Conan is one of the most instantly likeable personalities out there. Calling someone a prick when it clearly is the opposite of what the popular perception is of that person only makes you look like a tool. So if I were to say Boo Boo is a putz, that'd be exactly in line with public perception of you at this moment, and thus it wouldn't raise much ire or challenge.
