Then you have no concept of what a concealed weapons permit is. It isn't a permit that you simply go out and pay money for. You actually have to takes classes etc.... so you aren't an untrained, testosterone pumping person wielding a gun. They teach you to only pull out the gun if you or someone around you's life is being threatened at that moment, which I would consider a baseball bat wielding boso coming at me a life or death situation and will always be happy that someone was there with a gun to stop him.....

btw, you are around people with concealed weapons alot more then you think, or sounds like you want to be....

Glad to live in Europe - have never even seen a gun here. Ppl carrying guns in public would scare me as hell - I guess no trip to the US for me, with so many testosterone pumping angry young man bragging about fighting (judging by the forums here) running around with guns. There sure is something wrong with your place (prolly rather the brains) when ppl want/need to run around with killing devices.

When I turn 21 I'm going to ask him to do the same for me.. I want to carry guns where ever I go too ... Watch Out!! :Q

for what reason would he need a silencer? How did he justify that? So he doesnt have to wake people up when he is clappin' homies in the street?

edit: politically incorrect word removed.

Why for pointing out the obvious?

He pretty much hit the nail on the head, one of the many reasons we, US, have WAY more gun deaths here than any other country.

I should say, "had" a permit. It expired. I didn't carry very often anyway...illegal for me to carry on the job, and you can't leave it in the car.

I still have the weapons, but they're packed away in boxes in the basement.

In answer to several questions about legality: 99% of handgun laws are at the state level, so vary from state to state. Because the permits are issued by each state, they are NOT valid in other states. Same way a LEO cannot arrest you outside his jurisdiction.

In CT, all permits are for "concealed" carry. You're not allowed to carry one exposed unless it's a part of your job (ie, LEO or Armed Security Guard).

It's not illegal. All you need is a $200 tax stamp and permit from the ATF and you're good to go.

This is true as far as the United States go, silencers are not illegal. They are considered Title 2 weapons.
However individual states have made these weapons illegal.

Gem Tech Legal
That is GemTech which sells silencers, ownership legal note.

As noted on this site. NY is not on this site.
And if you look at NY laws, I believe its article 265, FIREARMS AND OTHER DANGEROUS WEAPONS
http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/nycodes/c82/a68.html
Silencers are listed when talking about criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

Now I don't know who the weapon was purchased and if it was grandfathered in.
Just pointing out facts.

I don't have one, but would if WI had the permits. Most of my family in Texas and Michigan do have permits to carry. I'm jealous!

Only law enforcement, and then you have to declare the weapon.

Most of the people that commit said homicides could care less about any law banning weapons.

Please post just one case in which a CC permit holder has been convicted of a homicide using a firearm.

No. You have to get a concealed permit in every state you carry the weapon. My uncle had 12 or 13 at one time when he was a bodyguard. Now that he's a marshall on planes, he doesn't have to have a permit.

Hehe, my sister's boyfriend's uncle leads the local SWAT team and his other uncle is a crazy ass anarchist so they got guns and knives everywhere. Anyway, when I'm 18 I figure I'll get a TEK-9 and then a carry and conceal permit. Yep.

Please post just one case in which a CC permit holder has been convicted of a homicide using a firearm.

In the 22 months after the Texas law went into effect, Texas Concealed Permit holders were arrested for 946 crimes, including murder/attempted murder, kidnapping, sexual assault, and drug-related offenses. (Violence Policy Center, 1998)

Texas) DPS data reveals that in the 22 month period 236 concealed handgun license holders were arrested on weapon-related offenses. (Violence Policy Center)
