Anybody who really believes that the judge in Seminole county is going to throw out 15,000 ballots because of an administrative mistake made with the applications, well then they are living in a fantasy world.

This is going to be over probably by the end of the week.

Moonbeam, You and Al make a great team. You just don't get it. Ballots are not votes. They become votes if they a VALID and LEGAL. Dimples, scratches, and any other mark does not constitite a vote. You cannot guess what was in somebodys mind. It is the responsibility of the voter to ensure that his ballot was filled out or punched properly.

One of Bush's lawyers had a great line yesterday. He was asked about the 10,700 ballots that were not counted. He replied, "Since you know how many there are, doesn't that tell you they have been counted" They just were not counted as votes.

Also, are you aware that there were over 2 million ballots that were thrown out in this country.

Maybe they SHOULD be counted as votes, at least the ones where someone voted. If two million ballots are being thrown out, that should tell EVERYONE that there may need to be better methods of reading ballots.

I love these subjective threads, where no one is quite right, yet no one is quite wrong either.


I found it interesting this year that Bush bothered to address the NAACP. In the past, the Republican party has skipped addressing the NAACP directly. Bush even apologized to them this year, saying that &quot;Though the Republican party lead the charge for equality (as in Lincoln), we have not always been at the forefront of equal rights&quot;. That isn't a direct quote, I don't have time today to research it, but you get the gist.


So, that was a notable thing for him to do, although it does not absolve the Republican party of all of its transgressions in the past.


Alright, I concede. Bush is a dufus.


However, there looks to be a saving grace to his election. He is putting together a first class cabinet. Which is good, since he was at best a third-class candidate. Now if only he will listen to his cabinet, and keep his mouth shut, we may be able to make it to 2004 without too much embarassment.


Gore will not run in 2004. There are many many demoncratic candidates that are far more presidential than he, and that don't come with a rap-sheet.

etech - I think all the absentee ballots were thrown out in the last Miami mayor race. However, there was proof of fraud with the actual ballots there. That's the reason why the current law was passed.

If the lawsuit is contesting the election based on what happened in one County, under Judge Sauls reasoning, it will be thrown out for just that.

I think that Gore should not concede. He has fought this long, he gains nothing by conceding now while there still is a chance that the Supreme Court will see it his way. If the Supreme Court goes against him, he shoul concede immediately.

The irony of the black community's utter enthrallment to the Democrats is that when a Republican makes an effort to address the NAACP like Bush did, he gets attacked with that disgusting ad that stopped just short of claiming that Bush brought the beer to James Byrd's dragging.:|

Bush is about to appoint a black man as Secretary of State (Powell) and a black woman as National Security Advisor (Condoleeza Rice). He has had respectable support amongst blacks and Hispanics in Texas. It'll be interesting to see how the Left savages him, DESPITE what he does. He entrusts national security to African-Americans but will certainly be called a RepubliKlan racist and Jesse Jackson will keep telling people that Bush threw out their votes to steal the election.

And we wonder why race relations are so lousy in America?:frown:
