One other thought. If we can develope a vaccine, would anti-vaxxers use it? Or would they prefer Ebola parties? :hmm:

The amount of off-duty work posted for cops in the DFW area shot through the roof this afternoon.

Please protect my wedding from Zombies.

It would be sad, if it wasn't so funny.

Doubtful this has anything to do with zombies, considering the host reservoir is likely bats, this is likely vampire based, and with massive bleeding as a symptom, it makes it easier for them to feed, and with enough food they may be able to come out during daylight. We will find out shortly.

But seriously though, why do we keep letting muslims from Africa into this country? The next terrorism wave is not going to be cyber-based or even direct violence based, it was and always has been the goal of muslims to put a pestilence on the free country of the USA. That time is now, and we must respond with righteous anger and furiosity!

And some of the news stories about Ebola in Africa right now are absolutely frightening. For every horrible story you read and see pics from, just imagine how many you aren't hearing about because everyone died, and there is nobody left to even tell what happened to them. Even journalists who tried to take precautions are literally dying with their cameras in their hands over there.

Yeah but just about everything is horrendously shitty in Africa, why would you expect their healthcare system dealing with an insanely deadly virus to be anything even resembling mediocre??? I don't care how bad you think our healthcare sucks it is a hundred fold better than most parts of Africa.

Besides, if you are that worried shouldn't you be digging a bunker with some sort of HEPA air filtration system and 50 years of food or something like that?

Well, how much money you got? Because everything can be had for a price at the alphabet soup agencies, morality and law be damned.

And everyone in political power also ignores the various soup agencies abuses completely, because they have a piece of the pie too, like stock and investments to consider. They know that money always comes first.

But it don't take a PHD to figure all this out, just a little common sense and a desire to read and think for yourself, which most people never seem to learn to do. Just because someone tells you to do something is not always a good reason to do it, especially when they are primarily motivated by money and greed, and not your personal welfare at all.

So...... we should do exactly the opposite of what the CDC says? I means seriously, WTF are you saying we should do or how we should react?

Is it time to put on a helmet? Start digging shelters? Hoarding water? Buying every last gun and box of ammo (regardless if you even have a gun in that caliber)? Are we at full out motherfucking zombie apocalypse level?

We are talking about a virus. How much of the population has any clue how viruses work beyond sometimes they make you sick. I consider myself rather informed and I had no clue how Ebola actually spread until today so I don't expect 90% of the general population to know it either. Who exactly should they listen to? They sure as hell ain't going to learn enough to make an educated choice for themselves.

Unfortunately our righteous anger is already double-booked through the end of the year. Would you settle for irritated indifference?

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/01/health/ebola-outbreak-in-nigeria-appears-to-be-over.html?_r=0

With quick and coordinated action by some of its top doctors, Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, appears to have contained its first Ebola outbreak, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday.

As the epidemic rages out of control in three nations only a few hundred miles away, Nigeria is the only country to have beaten back an outbreak with the potential to harm many victims in a city with vast, teeming slums.

“For those who say it’s hopeless, this is an antidote — you can control Ebola,” said Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, director of the C.D.C.

Local health workers with members of Doctors Without Borders at a hospital in Conakry, Guinea on Thursday. More foreign doctors and nurses are volunteering, but a gap remains.

Although officials are pleased that success was achieved in a country of 177 million that is a major transport and business hub — and whose largest city, Lagos, has 21 million people — the lessons here are not easily applicable to the countries at the epicenter: Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Public health officials in those countries remain overwhelmed by the scale of the outbreak and are desperate for additional international assistance.

Nigeria’s outbreak grew from a single airport case, while in the three other countries the disease smoldered for months in remote rain-forest provinces and spread widely before a serious response was mounted.

Ebola, Dr. Frieden said, “won’t blow over — you have to make a rapid, intense effort.”

While the danger in Nigeria is not over, the health minister, Dr. Onyebuchi Chukwu, said in a telephone interview that his country was now better prepared, with six laboratories able to make diagnoses and response teams and isolation wards ready in every major state.

After the first patient — a dying Liberian-American — flew into Lagos on July 20, Ebola spread to 20 other people there and in a smaller city, Port Harcourt.

They have all now died or recovered, and the cure rate — 60 percent — was unusually high for an African outbreak.

Meanwhile, local health workers paid 18,500 face-to-face visits to repeatedly take the temperatures of nearly 900 people who had contact with them. The last confirmed case was detected on Aug. 31, and virtually all contacts have passed the 21-day incubation period without falling ill.

The success was in part the result of an emergency command center financed in 2012 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to fight polio. As soon as the outbreak began, it was turned into the Ebola Emergency Operations Center.

Also, the C.D.C. had 10 experts in Nigeria working on polio and H.I.V., who had already trained 100 local doctors in epidemiology; 40 of them were immediately reassigned to Ebola and oversaw the contact tracing.

The chief of the command center, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, gave credit to a coordinated effort by the Health Ministry, the C.D.C., the World Health Organization, Unicef, Doctors Without Borders and the International Committee for the Red Cross.

So I guess the question to ask here is can we do as good a job as Nigeria?

No not really, because how can we justify nuclear warfare when the attitude is merely irritated and indifferent? We need them eradicated, so either we do it out of righteous anger, or through calm and calculated decision-making where we can quantify the quality of the earth with and without muslims and decide it is better without. That may take a while though, and I'd like it done sooner rather than later.

Nebor can back me up on this. Let's just get it done.

Ebola outbreak is more than likely just a matter of time; then wait for the panic

They are quickly losing containment of being able to hide the truth.

News conference just finished with Governor Perry.

This guy showed up on Sunday with symptoms and the Hospital turned him away saying he just had a low grade fever.

He then interacted with dozens of people including children.

They also admitted there are hundreds that have flown in from Liberia because Dallas has a Liberian population of at least 10,000.

The U.S. is fucked and we all know it.

This will make the 1908 Spanish Flu Pandemic look like a common cold.

Dallas has just been quarantined. National guard perimeter started going into place at approximately 5AM. Any who have attempted to leave have been shot.

This is bad.

Breaking news

Texas Ebola patient had contact with children

Gov. Perry: Kids being monitored

U.S. Ebola patient didn't give travel history, hospital didn't ask

It was not "fully communicated" to the medical team that the man had traveled to Africa, hospital official says.

Atlanta (CNN) -- [Update 1:24 p.m. ET] A nurse asked the U.S. Ebola patient for his travel history while he was in an emergency room, and the patient volunteered that he had traveled to Africa, said Dr. Mark Lester, executive vice president of Texas Health Resources. But that information was not "fully communicated" to the medical team, he says.

Some school-age children have been in contact with the U.S. Ebola patient being treated in Dallas, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Wednesday. The children have been identified and are being monitored for symptoms, he said.

The patient, a man, walked into a Dallas emergency room September 26. Although his symptoms could have indicated Ebola, among other diseases, no one at the hospital asked him if he had recently traveled to countries where the virus is present

The man, who had just flown from Liberia to the United States, didn't offer the information either, the source said, and he then left the hospital.

Two days later, on September 28, the man returned to the facility, where it was determined he likely had Ebola and was isolated.

It's possible others were infected because of the lapse.

Paramedics who transported the patient to the hospital have been isolated

The ambulance used to carry the patient was still in use for two days after the transport, city of Dallas spokeswoman Sana Syed said.

This is one dangerous disease and we just let people travel here from West Africa. Think the CDC or our national health care will protect you? Think again!

So this idiot had contact with people on the plane. Imagine you just used the bathroom that this guy used or he put his hand on the wall and now you may have it but you will not know till 5 days later when you start getting sick with flu symptoms and then later you are bleeding from your eyes and you start burning up on the inside like you are on fire. Scared yet?

So mister, lets visit Ebola infested homeland, had 3 children and they went to school in 3 different schools in Dallas area Schools. Imagine if they spread it around and all those school kids took it home to their parents and friends.

This could turn into world war Z . . . .

Not really. Ebola is relatively hard to spread, and kills so quickly that it needs a host reservoir in order to get established, which are likely to be bats. So unless we accidentally imported a substantial enough bat population that they could get established in the USA, it can't really turn into a huge epidemic because it isn't all that communicable compared to other diseases that were able to migrate.

Absolutely nothing. I'm sitting in ARNORTH HQ right now.

Not that what I'm saying is true, but if it something was happening covertly in an effort to control panic. Would you post confirming anything I said? Doubtful, so thanks for nothing.
