*Confirmed* Lowes 50% sale starts Jan 17th

According to Lowes.com, in store clearance is from 1/18-1/20. It doesn't give further details yet.

I went to a lowe's the other day, and they had alot of stuff on sale. Out on the sidewalk they had a ton of floor tile for .79 (12x12) and several other sizes. I would bet though that each store has different stuff on sale. Really, any tile for less than a buck per s.f is a great deal.

I stopped by Lowes this morning to check out the ucoming sale. The sign on the door says....


"Up to 50% off select merchandise throught the store. Look for the yellow tags for big savings."


The "up tp 50% off" part sounded too selective so I asked the manager at the service desk and was told that the clearanced items were already marked throughout the store and that the price marked on the yellow tags already reflect the upcoming discount and that is the price you will pay. If this is true then it is not like the Home Depot sale and is not even a sale at all because Lowes always has these yellow tag discounts throught the year. I am going to stop by another Lowes later today to confirm beacase this does not make any sense.

I just got an e-mail from Lowe's- they are calling it their "National Clearance Days".

It is UP TO 50% off and it is only from Jan 17-21.

We will see how hot it is

stopped by this AM, it's upto 50%(don't go in thinking you take 50% off the yellow sticker price-like HD last week)
Not much in my local Lowes,most items were only mmarked down a tiny percentage, saw a clothes iron org-28, down to 25 whoopie
did find a 3 gal sprayer for 7.99(org-24) but not much else

I went by there last night looking for power tool that may have been marked to ready for sale Thurs morning. The guy told me they won't mark anything until the sale start in middle of the night. So I did looked around and saw a whole bunch of junk already marked down. Even tho they're 50% off, they look like busted up junk someone returned. Anyway, I stopped by again this morning hoping they'd have some new stuffs on sale. Lo and behold, same crap. Nothing new marked down. Lame sale. I can pick out better stuffs from the leftovers at HD than this! Guess I'll go back to HD again. I am really trying hard to not to say "Loews 50% sale sucks" .... ooops. Of course YMMV so don't take my word for it.

Selection was crap at my local Lowes. I did see a Toro cordless grass trimmer, rechargeable battery type that said 55 min run time/charge, for $15.xx marked down from $48.xx. I passed since I've got a Ryobi version.

the lowe's sale here is TERRIBLE!


the stuff that they had for sale was all complete JUNK! NO ONE would want this stuff...I hope that this saves some ppl from lookin' @ the stuff that they have lined up on the folding tables...b/c to ME it was all junk...however...maybe some ppl will need it. I dunno.


Don't let me stop U...maybe you'll find something there that U needed...but man...I sure didn't see NEthing worth the stop.

I have to agree with everyone else on this one. This sale stinks in my area; nothing but a few obsolete tool accessories and some oddball electrical accesories. I really thought Lowes would come closer to Home Depot on this sale. Oh well!

Same here!!! Lowes sales sucks a big one. I did pick up some landscape lighting but was really looking for a lot better deals like HD had. Oh well......I expected more from LOWES.

With the way that they're understaffed and understocked, and the way that Home Depot outperforms them in sales and service like 10 to 1 around here (metro Detroit), I think they're gonna be shuttin' down stores soon. I won't miss 'em a bit.
