*CONFIRMED!* Price adjusting the BestBuy stuff DOES WORK!

I just got back from BestBuy in Union NJ. Picked up my Visiontek GF3 TI-200 card ordered online Sunday. They instantly adjusted the price to $99. Thank god, I do not have to send for the rebate and wait for it.

I got the hard drive reciept had they printed a PM one with today's date.

I called the BB Rebate center, and the lady said it should not be a problem to use that one. Circle the date of purchase (today) on the PM one.

I am also sending a letter saying that I re-purchased.

Christ I just got back from Best Buy and I'll have to go back later. I pulled into the lot and there were probably 300 people lined up just waiting to get in, and this is at 9:00. They don't have a chance in hell of getting what they wanted. I wasn't going to wait for however long just to get in. I'll try again later. People were walking out with like 2 buggies full of stuff.

Went to the Marietta, Ga. store, about 530am.. was #30 in line..
The line stretched at 7pm about 400 people deep.. and people were
waiting 10 feet away that just got there.. and RUSHED the doors.. with the people
who had been waiting 2hrs.. (what a buncha crap)..

I got inside and made a BEELINE to the GF3 ti200 cards.. there wasnt anyone to THAT
aisle yet..and there were NO GF3 ti200 cards to START with.. they had no stock
when they opened.

I luckily grabbed a 60g hard drive.. then

I went to get a PRICEMATCH on the GF3 card I had already bought (because I knew this
would happen) and they checked with 2 cust service managers and said they could
NOT pricematch any fri/sat/sun SALE item at all..

I told them that was crap, they said too bad...
I proceeded to get a STORE manager, explained they had NONE when they opened and
I wanted them to pricematch one I had previously bought (just for that reason)..
HE said, ok, no prob.. and they credited me the 199$ and then re-rang up the item
for 149$.. and it printed a rebate slip (NO VIRTUAL rebate for me).. i dont know how you guys
got away with that.

O well.. YMMV as they say, I would get a manager if they dont pricematch these items for you
that you already bought.. I would ask them to SHOW you where it says that they cant
PRICEmatch any of these SALE items.. (I bet they would be hard pressed to back up
that policy, if it IS one)..

Got back from the philadelphia area stores (2 to be exact). I hit the philly store at 6am and i was PACKED! At least 300-400 by opening time. Well...I had no luck at that store so I went to my backup plan, I went to another store where my friend worked and he held a HD and a video card for me. I spent an hour in line but it's worth it.

I bought the 16x cd burner earlier in the week and got to BB around 8. I waited in the customer service line for ~20 minutes (and wasn't even close to the desk yet). A manager then came out and asked how many of us were wanting PMs. It was most of the line... so she signed our receipts indicating we could come back another time to get the PM. Very nice!

Um...guys, I think having a receipt with PRICE MATCH printed across the top of it might be a problem. Has anyone ever gotten a rebate using a PM receipt?? The CSR I spoke with said it would not work.

I just talked to a CSR at the rebate number, and he said it will only work on a return and a rebuy, not a pricematch. This is because the pricematch rebate states the original purchase date across the top. I would not count on the $50 rebate.

Yeah, that sounds right. I'm going to head back later today and do a return/rebuy. Hopefully they won't give me any sh*t about it.

Dangit, are u guys sure we cannot use the pricematch receipt? The CSR at bestbuy who gave me the PM and printed me out the rebate just told me to send it in with the PM receipt. Can anyone confirm this?

Jesus! I was at BB around 6:15am and there were already more than 50 people ahead of me. Once the door opened, all the HDDs and the GF3 cards were gone within first 10 seconds!!! Ofcoz I wasn't able to get any. Then I almost jumped over the isle and tried to get the Reserach Digital 16x burner. Geez, and it was all gone too. Well, I ended up getting nothing! I had no choice and then headed to the line of "Return Merchandise" coz I pre-purchased what I want in the beginning of this week. After a little wait on the line, the CSR told me she couldn't re-ring the receipt with today's date. All she could do is to make the price adjustment, which means I could get the refund for the difference between the prices. If I want a new receipt with today's date (I need the new receipt for rebates), I have to bring back the stuff. Stupid me was too rushy to BB this morning and forgot to take everything with me to BB. So I gotta drive another 20 miles back home to grab my stuffs and then go back to BB again! I was at BB again around 9:30am and oh my God, the store was all packed! It seemed like people grabbing their stuffs for free. I forgot how many times I blamed myself not to bring my stuffs with me this morning for re-purchase and now I have to suffer lining up on the LoOoOoOoNG line. And guess what, once I got to the CSR again, she didn't even scan my stuffs, just taking the UPC from the receipts and processed the return. M*ther F8cker...waste of my time. Anyway I am still happy for being able to get what I want.

Also in Wilmington NC there were about 200 people before it opened. Hard drives were gone in seconds, 16X burners took about 15min's, and the Video cards nobody was touching them at all, still had 10 or so when I left.

** WARNING ** I have called the 800 number (1-800-797-3956) twice, and received the same answer twice. Best Buy is not accepting a "pricematch" receipt for the GeForce3 rebate. I was put on hold twice as they asked higher up the chain what the policy would be, and they told me the same thing both times. I told them that I thought that was unfortunate, as now I will have to go back their and make their reps ring it up for me again...

Went to BB Greensboro NC at 7:05 am and it was already a mob scene. Nothing decent left. I really don't need the $50 hd or the $99 GF3, but I would not have minded these good deals. If I really wanted them I would have pre-bought them like you guys recommended. Got the $19.99 after MIR Lexmark printer, tho. Lines at registers 30 to 60 people long, going all the way to the back of the store. I won't do that again soon.

BTW Compusa had PC133 memory and 50 spindle Pny cd-rs both free after rebates, which I got in on, Staples had the $39.99 leather chair I wanted, and I got $80 Logitech Z-540 speakers (sound great!) less $20 off coupon I got off these boards.

I went to the Bestbuy in Lynnwood, Wa and they printed out a return and rebuy with today's date for the vt ti-500. The rebate also printed out as well. Then I preceeded to the Northgate store but the csr there said that returning and rebuying wasn't their policy. She only gave me a pricematch and the pricematch receipt. I told her that the other store did a return and rebuy but she was a mean lady. Oh well, I'm still going to send the pm'd one with the return rebuy one. I hope I get them both.
