The sale was only for 23-24. So if anything, its probably too late now to make any adjustments...

1. the sales receipt dated 11/21/01
or
2. The pricematch receipt dated 11/23/01 @ 11 am

or both?

I put both in an envelope w/ the UPC but I can fish it out if necessary...

First off Thanx GOSHARKS for the heads up on a SMOKING deal.

I bought the GF3 and WD 60GB on Monday, I then went in on Friday (14th in line with 4 of my friends) Helped all my friends get their own GF3 and gave them each $100 cash to buy me a 60GB hard drive. While they were in line to check out I walked over to the empty customer service counter, she returned the GF3 and HD and then charged me for it again at the Instant Rebate prices as well as adding the CD-RW, webcam, and CD-R's to my total. Now I have my new 240GB RAID5 server with the help of a couple of friends. And yes they will be sending in and giving me the rebates on the hard drives as it is one per address. Lastly for those of you who wonder what the hell you do with 240GB check out www.divx.com

2. pricematch receipt dated 11/23/01

3. rebate slip and UPC are a given...

There is too much speculation in this thread. For a definitive answer, send in the REBATE RECEIPT AND a copy of the STORE RECEIPT and the REBATE FORM.

Make copies and wait for your check.

LoStZ... Thanks for the reply. They refused both on the 23rd and the 24th in store and refused to allow me to return it and then rebuy it. Anything I can do?

If you only have a sales receipt saying that you bought it the 21st, I would not submit that if I were you. There was some question on whether to send in the rebate receipt or sales receipt, but it was pretty clear that you need a receipt dated during the promotion to qualify for the MIR.

Send in the rebate receipt and hopefully it will go through. If not, they will probably ask to see a copy of your original sales receipt. In that case, you're pretty well screwed if the receipt is dated the 21st.

When exactly did you try to price match the card? If it wasn't Friday or Saturday, I can see why because that's when the sale was. If you tried Sunday or today, you not only miss out on the PM, but you will also not be eligable for the MIR.

Salvador... Short story version, purchased for in store pickup on the 17th, cancelled without my permission on the 18th. Called 888 number to ask why and was told that I could pick it up at a store 3 hours away roundtrip and get there and was told they must have been mistaken.

Called again the 18th to place order to be delivered before Thanksgiving, go to check status online to find they chose ground method and switched requested credit card to be used from Blue to my Visa. Wait inline for two hours Friday, about number twenty inline, to find out they don't have any stock and will not offer rainchecks. Take my printout receipt from online to pricematch that same day, refused. Make another online purchase Friday morning whilst still showing in stock and available only to get an e-mail stating they cancelled it and they would be happy to replace the order if I repurchase only to go back and they had removed it from the site. Take my printout receipt from online to pricematch on the 24th, refused. During all of this is constant e-mails and phone calls, and all they ever say is they are sorry but they can't help, no reason why though.

What do I do now besides give up and return it?

Wow! That sucks! I'd write Best Buy corporate or call them and tell them the entire story and see what they can do. I doubt you'll get any help on this at the store level.

The only thing that might be tough is that you bought it online for the inflated price, didn't you? It's hard to PM something that you don't have and if you didn't get your card Friday or Saturday when the sale was on, I don't know what they can do for you.

Sorry dude.. I guess I don't know what to tell you.

Salvador... Thanks for the commiseration. I am calling the other number the gave me today, they have been closed, so that is the last thing I know of to try.

Yeah, it was purchased online for $199.

man, my best buy didn't even have any gf3 cards out on display on wednesday night.....they said a truck just got in and they won't have them on display till that Friday......BS! they must have been reading anandtech. lol

ok, see, i dont know what everyone is getting flustered about, at the store i went to, there were atleast 40 - 50 HDs, 30 or so geforce 3s, at least 50 of the cdrws, and such... they had more than the ad stated.
