Confused about Panaflo fans

Panaflo series of fans are very confusing. Some 92mm M1As have same .15a spec. as L1As,
then some have RPM monitoring like M1A BX versions w/c specifies .2a (must be noisy).

Shopping around I came across 92mm H1As rated .55a, I bought one and boy, this one's a screamer and it's not even the ultra U1A w/c is rated lower. Then, some don't have the country of manufactiure in the label, some are made in China and some made in Japan. How do we know w/c is a real Panaflo?

Ther website (http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/appliance/appliance_fans_home.htm) features only the non-BX models - who knows who really makes the BX models? Even worse, I lookd through ther website to get the contact details of the local distro in my country and the people there have no idea what a DC Fan or Panaflo is and mistook me for inquiring on electric fan appliance.

This is why I rather go for the Papst fans, which advertise their catalogs online and up-to-date and can be only bought in the local eBm distro (in my country). Actually I think the Papst 80mm NGML (rated .075a / 19 dBa) blows more air than the Panaflo 80mm M1A rated .14a and a bit noisier.

It is true the BX series have a different rated amperage, but performance wise they are just the same. All of the fans (different manufactures) out there can be rated different amps depending on what special features are on it, so it can throw you off whats listed on the website, especially if you grabbed these fans from some surplus and don't know what its for and intended for something else, like maybe that third wire be for a fuse, speed controlled or thermally speed controlled, RPM monitoring, theres a whole bunch of things.

I haven't noticed of the 100's of Panaflo fans i've gone through made in China, thats surprising news to me.
Personally im not to fond of Panaflo fans either, and i've played with em all.

That's a very good site you put up there thank you, i wished it also had the power rating column as well.
by the way, what do you think of the Papst vario-fans, how do these work? Is there an extra temperature wire attached to it to which you attach to a heatsink or something else?

lol I am using an 80mm Ultra to cool my CPU along with a TT Vol. 11 heatsink ... why I am telling you this?

Papst Vario has 2 power wires, one for its high speed one for its low speed. They do have a box that you plug both wires into and can go from low to high depending on temperature, but never seen that avialable anywhere, your could also contruct some switch as well from high to low wire.
