confused O.o, so i installed a SATA drive (problem solved)

got a raptor installed it... its not my primary drive

recognizes in bios, but not in winxp pro, any ideas?

you have to have the sata drivers on a floppy, right when the xp cd boots up you wil have to press F6. then, after a while it will ask for the drivers,

You may not be trying to access it, but XP is. XP wants to know how big it is and how it is formated so it can be ready when you are.

Backup or primary you will still need drivers to see it in XP. If you don't need to access it through XP then you don't need to install the XP SATA/RAID drivers. Does your backup program like Ghost, Drive Image, Acronis etc. see the drive?

The drive has to be formated too. Boot from the disk that came with the drive and follow directions. (but you knew that already, didn't you)
