Has anyone been diagnosed with this? Apparently I'm stage D.
my doctor will be in tomorrow; my likely recommendation is Bangkok Hospital - for both cardiology and cardiac surgery - 2 Soi Soonvijai 7, Huaykweang / Bangkok, but i want to get his opinion on what facility / price is his recommendation for your diagnosis - it might not need to be in Bangkok at all. If yes, i should be also able to get you a contact to arrange the admission.

Bangkok. I'll look up the recommended facility for cardiology when i'm next on my work PC, Sunday.
You can expect to spend 1/3 of the cost of having it in the states, and they are very very modern hospitals with excellent quality of care and highly trained physicians.

You’re just infatuated by the ladyboys in their nursing costumes…

I have no intention of doing any of that or running up a huge bill. When it's time, it's time. Part of the papers are already done. Need to do the rest soon.

Damned appendix and related follow ups were over $100K according to the billing statements, so far all paid by insurance which paid a lot less somehow. I can't even imagine heart stuff.

My neighbor has been through it for 10 years in multiple forms. He's less than 30% of the person he used to be. He hasn't told me numbers, but says his retirement after 20 or more years of county government employment pays for half of his medical insurance premium. HALF.

I have zero intention of doing anything at all to extend in any way. Already looking at how to get to one of the states who allow civilized exits when the time comes. Pretty sure my merry band of Rednecks will never pass it.

Have you been following along with the updates on his general existence? What do you hope for him to gain by extending his life further? Is everyone obligated to live as long as medically possible, even if they don't want to?

I have the answer and it's what i already mentioned;
by far the best choice today for private treatment, cost/quality wise, is Bangkok in either:

or

In addition to being excellent for both cardiology and cardiac surgery, they have a phenomenal english-speaking administration; they will gladly help you plan the travel to the hospital and pre-arrange the diagnostics and treatment (and can also take the medical reports you already have). you can expect to spend between 1/4 and 1/3 of what you would pay in the US, and the level of care is pretty much what you would get at any Beth Israel hospital in NYC.

FYI, we use them as well. They are our "Preferred Provider" for pretty much every diagnosis in all of asia - we've flown out many a serious patient from nearby countries to get them treatment here.
