To anyone who argued on this forum who fought the good fight and pointed out the insanity of the last eight years under GWB, this bud is for you. :beer: Some of you are still here, some of you have moved on. Yesterday was a great day for America, today is a great day for the majority of P&N. :gift:

There are too many long-time posters to name out, but you know who you are. :thumbsup:

(As an example, it was nice to see Conjur to return to have a last laugh. I remember him and other long-time posters posting long backed-up posts refuting right-wing extremist posts backing Bush and the Republican congress. )

This point of this thread is not to be a gloat thread, although I do think one should be started.

Good riddance to them, but to me, it's like when someone has multi-organ system cancer - it's no condolence to have your doctor tell you the cancer's gone from your lungs if it's still in your stomach, bones, and brain. A huge issue with me is the deficit and the country's long-term fiscal outlook, and I don't expect that's going to get much better under Obama.

Me too, voted for some of each. As I've said for a long time, I don't have a problem with conservatism per se. I think both ideologies -- and more -- should have a place at America's table. My concern was with the slime and extremists who have hijacked the Republican party. While I'm not sure what Obama will be able to do, or even what he will try to do, if nothing else this election may finally be the straw that forces traditional, honorable Republicans to purge their party of the malignancy perverting everything the party once represented.

Good riddance to Dick Cheney, GWB, et al, and the blight they've brought upon America.

I extend the same thanks to all the others that endured the agony of watching our country destroyed at the hands of the Republicans.

The traditional robber barons were actually great for America. They were so ruthless in making money that they provided exponentially better service to Americans for a whole hell of a lot less money.
