A favorite tactic of the right, when in a position where certain behaviors of theirs cannot be denied, is to point at the left and accuse them of being equally or more so culpable.

In the case of using fear, bigotry and armed resistance to take back the country from the opposition, well, that tactic just won't work in the face of the overwehlming evidence that has played itself out since Pres. Obama took office.

Don't mind me, I'm just pointing out the obvious for those that are in denial.

Fortunately, the bullet only went through the left lobe and not both sides. It's a very good sign that she is communicating with the caveat that the left side controls speech and understanding speech.

My dad who recently passed away, had a heart attack while caring for my mother who had Alzheimers so she did not make a call to 911. Fortunately, a neighbor happened to come by, but we never really knew how long that was. Anyway, due to this, my dad suffered brain damage on the left side of his brain due to lack of oxygen. He spent the last 10 years of his life very frustrated due to his condition known as global aphasia. This rendered his ability to speak a difficult if not impossible task.

I had a similar situation with my mother who also recently passed away. She had a stroke on the left side of her brain two years ago and struggled with speech. It was very frustrating for her. I'm hoping that since Giffords is younger and it was a different kind if damage that she has a better chance of recovery than our older parents.

And the communist manifesto and mein kampf are listed under his favorite books...conservative he is not. (see, i can do that too)

There are some people that don't fit into neat little convenient political groups believe it or not...some people are just really out there.

You're assuming he supports communism beliefs. He might for instance think that book is important because he feels the US is secretly being turned into a socialist state by secret communists like Obama. Hmm...have we heard anyone say that before?

According to the FBI memo he might fit that pattern.

I have pointed this out a few times already, nobody wants to listen. The guy is a small government quasi-anarchist through and through. He isn't a socialist by any means, especially when you consider his ranting about the unconstitutionality of almost all of our government and laws.

A "favorite" book may be one that you think is worthwhile to read when studying your opponents.

Ah, no, I'm not assuming anything, other than this guy is crazy. That point was rhetorical only to show a point.

Another: Someone described him "As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy."

The handful of liberals on this board are the ones doing all of the assuming, anyone who can read can clearly see that.

LOL, more assumptions and spin to pick and choose evidence so it fits the conclusions that you desire. People will see what they want to see in things to promote their agenda, this thread is proof.

Carry on fools.

Apparently, the right thinks anything totalitarian is a left thing. I guess Hitler was a leftist in their revisionists minds.

The reason that argument is just completely ridiculous is that this particular congresswoman was actually pretty middle of the road. If you want to have some type of armed revolution to "take back" something you will almost always start eliminating those most opposed to you.

She doesnt fit that description by a mile.

A crazy fucking Lefty who snapped because the woman wasnt "left enough".

Does it matter hes a Lefty? Nope. It shouldnt. But some people have to do everything that can to push their agenda no matter what event is used to do that. Its a shame really and shows the utter detachment from reality for those who do.

Suffice to say "We the People" arent nearly as dumb and naive as either side would like to think we are and trying to spin this into propaganda simply isnt going to fool anyone.

Its not like theres not some really whacked out people on both sides of the aisle. But to assume then that represents the fundamental beliefs of the party they support is just ignorance of the highest degree.

Ditto.

Let me ask you a question, even though I think I already know the answer. Do you believe that the current body of law and regulation, in its entirety, offers a benefit to society that outweighs its cost in terms of convenience, liberties of the majority, and money? Or do you believe, as I do, that we do not need all of the laws we have to achieve the same or better benefits?

Depends on the government.
You see, there are different ways of executing a government in service of the people. That is again why i say that you only see black and white and not shades of grey.

Minimizing the number of victims is not something government is good at.
Depends on the government. If you have a government from a certain political party that fabricates lies to send people to war, then yes it is the wrong government. This has happened a few years ago. But not all politicians are the same. Even from that very same party , there are a lot of honest intelligent people who think first and act later.

Actually, yes, I do. Agreements between people are necessary for a society to function and to be free. Society needs these agreements and social structures much more than it needs a welfare, regulatory, and nanny-state government.

Well, some people are not always willing to live by those agreements. And then you can boldly claim that you will shoot that person but by the time you have shot that person, a lot of innocent people have died.

And now i end it. Because it becomes boring to me.

So, he's already targeting her a few years ago, apparently...

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/report-shooter-made-past-threats-against-giffords/

Investigators are examining past interactions between Jared Loughner, the suspect accused of killing six and wounding 13 others, and Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in an attempt to shed more light on what kind of motives may have driven the young gunman to kill on Saturday. According to CBS News, Loughner had made threats against Giffords in the past and even met with her face-to-face at a 2007 event.

On “Face the Nation” Sunday, CBS’ Bob Orr reported that the 2007 interaction included a “benign” question from Loughner posed to the Congresswoman, but her response was apparently unacceptable in his eyes.

“She answered the question; he didn’t find it acceptable, he didn’t like the answer,” Orr said. “In the time since then, investigators believe perhaps he was tracking her and targeting her in a very loose way.”

“We should say that Loughner has made threats in the past,” Orr added. “Police knew this guy. He had made these threats, general in nature, not specific.” Loughner was never criminally charged for any of these threats.

“We want to be careful here to say that as far as we know, there was not specific intelligence that he intended to do anything yesterday. It’s not like someone missed a blinking red light here,” Orr said.

Hitler is right wing as much as Stalin is Left wing.

Things get blurry when it comes to totalitarianism:

Don't forget that hitler was a member of the National Socialists which evolved from the german workers party.

"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." --Adolf Hitler

Hitler is no liberty loving free-market capitalist.

Things are not so black and white as you wish they were.

Hitler explained in Mein Kampf why he used the name. Same reason fox uses "fair and balanced" -to confuse.

If you were a actual Socialist the reality is you went to camps. Period. You are very mislead by history on purpose by the conservative media and it is sad. You associate a madman who killed Socialists with abandon, the only people he hated more then Jews. Socialists. Do you guys not SEE why the disinformation you guys eat up is not healthy for america?

Those appear to be BB or Airsoft guns...

Not to mention photoshopped.

But don't tell Jst0rm! He's cumming in his pants over the thought that this can be pinned on anything he deems right-wing.

Anyone remember that washed up 70s country/rock singer who said he wanted Obama to "Suck on my machine gun!" to a huge round of applause?

Also typical that a gun toting right winger would get all hung up on them not being real guns if you want to carry this stereotyping thing out further.

Ah, enough! I think I'll watch The Soup.

This rhetoric is nothing new it's as old as politics itself; "Daisy" anyone?

What's worse than insinuating that your opponent will literally lead the nation to be vaporized in a nuclear holocaust if he's elected?

Notice the word rhetoric, it's allegorical, in other words it's no issue to sane people. Not to mention, as I've shown with links, left is just as vile and outrageous in their rhetoric.
