Soft mod will get you 9700 NP speeds.

If the softmod is successful you will get 8 pipes 256bit memory, thus giving you a 9700np. Then, you can use overclocking to get it up to 9700 pro speeds.

softmod enables addition 4 pipelines for 8 total pipelines = 9500 Pro
overclock core and memory = 9700
overclock + softmod = 9700 Pro
newegg also sells heatsinks for video card ram... if u wanna overclock it a lot those will definately help
Yes in situation where a lot of bandwidth is needed, such as at high resolution. This is one of the problems with the fx5800. Since it only had a 128 bit bus, it was slower than the 9700 once more bandwidth was needed.Originally posted by: funko
