Connect3D Radeon X1800GTO

If this is 16 pipes, that seems pretty damn hot. But I just got a x850xt so I don't think this is worth it at this time for me.

I'm very tempted to jump on this if it really is 16 pipes. I just bought a 7600GT, but this would be worth it to me to replace it, especially if I'm lucky enough to OC to XT speeds. Then it will be almost like a $175 X1800XT! (barring lack of memory/memory speed restrictions)

how does this compare to a 9800 pro?

Want to upgrade but not sure what would be a good pci card.

I have both agp and pci-e slots.

reports are that it is a 12 pipe card, but that it is one of the cards that can be flashed to 16 pipes along with HIS.

they shipped mine, but i might refuse it or open and test it then send it back if it doesnt unlock since it won't be the item i ordered without 16 pipes.

The connect3d website is misleading, if not totally incorrect on the GTO pipelines. There appears to only be one page specific to the GTO model, which states 16 pipelines. All other references throughout the website are for the "X1800 Series" showing 16 pipelines, but no mention of a GTO model.

Wow, that is a NICE deal. If it really does have 16 PPs or can be flashed to 16, bye-bye 7600GT

BTW, I thought ATi was getting more stringent on the GTO being able to be flashed and laser cut the 4 extra PPs so they wouldnt be modded?

Chickening out and refusing my shipment from newegg. The 16/12 pipe stuff looks too deliberate to be an accident (not newegg's fault, they get specs from the manufacturer). This does not bode well for receiving the huge rebate.

$242 for 3/4 of a 256 meg X1800XT would be such an unbelievably cold deal that I'm not going to risk it. Going to hang out with my craptastic hardware and wait for a 7900GT deal.

confirmed failure. I've flashed the card to Sapphire X1800XL, but ATItool still reports 12 pipes. I'm going to RMA the card back to Newegg.

My card booted up as a 12 pipeline card, and after reading into supposed success flashing stories, I tried flashing it to a Sapphire X1800XL bios and the HPEKC HIS bios, with no luck. There are only a few reports of people doing this, with very little provided evidence...I'm still not thoroughly convinced it can be done.

Don't know about Connect3d but i was able to unlock my HIS x1800gto to 16 pipes.

Mine is sitting in the box now - Will install it tomorrow. If it will be a 12 pipe card Will newegg take it back without restocking???

I think it has to do with the PCB that the GPU is built on. The HIS model that people are unlocking seems to have a PCB more similar to the X1800XT, namely in that it has 6 power fets, while other X1800GTOs have just 5.

Since they advertised it as 16 pipes, I would hope so.
