Read the argument. I said SUVs not cars.

SUVs are dangerous (and unlike hi-cap mags and assault weapons, there are legit studies showing this), wasteful, and no one actually "needs" them. That's the same argument I'm hearing for banning assault weapons and "high capacity" magazines.

Failed again. Please refrain from anymore attempts at arguing your case because you suck at it. I share your viewpoint, but I sure as hell am not going to compare deadly weapons to SUVs, because all you're doing is reinforcing the other side with the ubsurdity you are calling logic.

Now that we know who the killer is that sort of makes sense. He wasn't old enough to purchase a handgun.

From what I understand, his mom purchased ALL of the weapons. Now who she purchased them for is anyone's guess. I have seen many parents purchase guns, even handguns, for their kids, even as young as 12 years old.

In case you hadn't realized it this is a free country. Assimilate that.

Yes, it is. But so many of these gun-loving crazies are unassimilated into modern American culture. These are the same types who try to suppress voting and other heinous activities when they have power. Now that they're losing power, why not turn the tables on them? Restrict their rights in regards to guns. Put them under the same profiling that they demanded of others. Police officers should be stopping every white male on the streets and search them for guns. The FBI should be infiltrating activities popular with white males, like wrestling and monster truck events.

Yes it is widely accepted use of the word clip to refer to a magazine.

It isn't wildly accepted. The simple fact is that we just have that many ignorant people in the US who don't know what they are talking about. I excuse them because they are simply ignorant. The willfully ignorant, such as yourself, I see no excuse for.

You mean white males that don't agree with you politically, right? The other ones are good to go in your book eh?

No, just the unassimilated ones. Obviously a lot of them don't agree with me politically. After all, they're unassimilated.

Why would you say that he is willfully ignorant? I confess that I don't know a lot about guns but I would have thought the words clip and magazine as synonymous. Also, why should you have to "excuse" anyone for not knowing this?

Much like the car example, this is another totally vacuous false equivalency. A steak, cooking or pocketknife is in no way analogous to a gun. A dedicated fighting knife, like this, arguably is (I have actually owned one and sold it because it was so useless for anything I'd actually do, though you could use it for some camping purposes), but just about every other kind of knife has numerous uses totally unrelated to injuring or killing people.

I would think that the item that was used to procure the food was at least as useful as the item used to cut the food afterwards.

Because he has been told multiple times what the difference is, so he knows the correct terminology but refuses to use it. That is being willfully ignorant.

And I couldn't find a better word. Maybe it would have been better had I said "I cut people slack when they are just ignorant but willfully ignorant people seem like retards to me".

Edit: Its not that I expect you to know, like you said a lot of people truly don't know the difference and I don't think any less of them for it. If you have been repeatedly told the difference yet continue to argue that you are right, you are actually trying to be stupid.

I have not felt this bad since September 11th, 2001. I could not even imagine how those families feel and hope to God that I never will. I hope that nobody ever has to go though that again.....

Obviously should ban pick up trucks too.

They are higher off the ground and result more in deaths than car wrecks Vs people.

Should also ban pens.

When a word is misspelled it is harder to correct the mistake than with a pencil.

A gun is an efficient tool for killing, a pickup is a tool for driving. The more false equivalencies you guys make the dumber you appear. Not suggesting banning guns is a solution, but until we can agree on what a gun is the point of discussion is lost.

Knives, arrows, swords, axes etc all kinds of "efficient tools for killing" so what is your point?

Tragically, crazy people with guns make the news every month now. There will be copy cats.
Are you saying media idolization of these shooters produces more shootings?

Maybe we should ban CNN.

Seriously, Dave, just leave this place. You've been embarrassing yourself here for more than a decade. You're too old to be making such glibly stupid arguments, much less in public.

God, that list is heartbreaking. I almost feel like they should just raze the school - how could anyone send their small children back there anytime in the foreseeable future? I have no doubt it is a lovely school with an excellent staff, but I can't imagine any kids being effectively educated there anytime soon.

I had actually thought about that yesterday. I heard the CNN report this morning with the kid telling his daddy that he didn't want to go back to that school on Monday. I'm sure that they will just clean it up and open it back up though. For many of the kids and teachers there, it will haunt them.
