We are talking a lot about rights here. What rights are talking about? In America, there is a rule or a regulation for almost everything. I doubt Pakistan has similar restrictions. In terms of day to day rights, I'm not really sure if Pakistan is worse than the US. In certain parts of the US, one cannot smoke even on a sidewalk. Are there such similar rules in Pakistan?
As to guns, they don't kill people. It's people who kill people. Our society, along with the rest of the world's, are totally out of balance in how we live our lives. We follow others while being unwilling to be better persons. People now blame others and not themselves. They hate others without even considering that they are their own worst enemy. A guy living in a village in Pakistan should not logically hate anyone in the US since he hasn't met them. However, his friends or his religious leader or his media outlet have such influence over him that he believes the nonsense. The same holds true for everyone else.
As for guns, like I said above, they are not the problem. There is a reason who so many people buy guns: they are bored, scared, paranoid or whatever. As for buying a gun for self defense, this argument is somewhat similar to the nuclear weapons argument. Country X develops a nuclear program because Country Y has them. Then Country Z will have them since Country Y has them. Eventually, everyone will have guns in that scenario. Is that any better?
If people become better then there will be no need for guns or weapons. Instead, our idea of better seems to be getting more wealth, power, land, education, technology, etc. All of that leads to violence. No way around it.
