I have been given a task by my supervisor to have 3 computers built with the ability to display on 5 different 65 inch LCD monitors on the wall. I know that ATI makes a FirePro card with 6 DisplayPort outputs. We could probably have them installed in each of the 3 computers. The main problem is, we will have 3 computers built with the capability to display to the same 5 LCD's but only one computer will be able to run the 5 display setup at a time. If that computer breaks down or we want to have one of the other 2 computers take control of the monitors, then we would have to do a cable shuffle every time. Do they make a KVM type device for this kind of setup? We would have 2 (or best case 3) computers with the six cables coming out of the FirePro cards into the KVM and then the 6 display cables going out of the KVM to each of the 65 inch displays. If we need to pass the monitor control between any of the 3 computers it would be easy with the KVM. This sounds confusing but I need to come up with something for this setup. I'd appreciate any input you folks can give.
