Hi Peeps,

before I start blabbering, I drew a little diagram that should sort out few things desired design wise:

Home Network Diagram

Me and my friend tried few things at least, he set up Trendnet with static ip and then told me to enter static route to the router from server and still didn't work. I was playing with NAT, ICS, Bridging and honestly having an adventure of finding how I should dedicate each part of the scheme.

Cutting long story short I am trying to use my Server 2003 that is connected only wirelessly to buildings router/cable modem and from there share it through my access point so I also have higher speed access to my external storage and have wired ports. Thanx guys

i  your drawing...

pretty simple setup, should just be RRAS on the server with a default route towards the wireless linksys, and a static route with your internal trendnet network towards the trendnet. without knowing how everything is addressed, i can't go into further details.

thank you, i tried

well it's standard 192.168.1.1/24. I can log in and change things around linksys (192.168.1.1) the way I want, it's still not mine though and would prefer to mess with it the least. I did get it working by creating bridge on the server between wireless 802.11 and 1Gbit Nic, linksys is DHCP x.x.1.100 - x.x.1.149 with server being x.x.1.2, (mac successfully got x.x.1.13x through trendnet) and my trendnet x.x.1.4 and pretty much being glorified switch with AP. I manually set multiport mac bridge ip to x.x.1.2 for the sake of DC with AD. I am not sure I did it the best way, though it works as I want it.

This is EXACTLY what i'm trying to do on my schools LAN network for LAN Parties, so that people on the LAN party network can access internet through the server. Windows Server 2003 acts as a router, and connects to the schools router. I need my server to DHCP, NAT, and DNS for the LAN guests. If you figure something out please help, i'm at one month and still trying to figure it out.

that is about the way I wanted to set up but failed, took the easier way out I guess with bridging/switching. Isn't NAT being a little problem here (??), because the router already has NAT. I still want to figure it out, especially because not always I will have access to somebody else's router like I did in my case. It all seems to be so straightforward but...
