video- supports agp, not neccessary to upgrade


So a total upgrade cost of $270, minus whatever you can get for your current cpu and mobo.
If you are on a tight budget I would suggest considering this option; however it is not the best option if you are planning on upgrading your video card beyond a 7600gt as the pci express slot is only 4x.

I think I heard the ass-rock boards did support Conroe...However you will not be able to OC far, so enthusiasts will likely avoid this offering. seems odd while all the other 975 mobo makers missed the boat on the correct VRMs that Ass-rock would have hit it....Oh well I guess when enough of them get out there we will hear if problems arise...

Ninja's comment isn't completely accurate but it implies a fact, a fact that isn't negative towards AMD platform in any way. Remember that A64 has integrated memory controllers? While small, AMD system will benefit more from faster/tighter DDR2 memory than Intel system which is for the most part restricted by FSB.
