I think I'm pretty much sold on the E6300. If what I've read is right, and correct me if I'm wrong, the E6300 is comparable to AMD's 4200+. I'm not looking for the absolute best thing on the market, but a fairly high end comp which will last me a while, with a focus on gaming. I feel like the overclocking capabilities on the E6300 will make it a good value for me (even though I've never overclocked before, but more on that on a later date ). Pretty much, its between the E6300 or the E6400 for me, since I don't have the resources to pay for anything higher. So in terms of bang for my buck, which one should I get?
Also, how much should I be looking at to build my system. I'm looking at a E6300 or E6400, a motherboard, psu, memory, and a video card. I don't want anything fancy...I just want a mobo that has decent overclocking capabilities, decently fast memory (nothing exceptional) and a psu that will supply enough power. For my gpu, I want something that will play most current games, like battlefield 2 and oblivion, on high, preferrably on max settings. I was looking at a geforce 7600, but I am willing to go all the way up to a 7900 if absolutely necessary.
