New Zealand, UK, Canada, and Israel are all governed by Conservative Parties now which was I thought Obama was vulnerable.

Your first mistake is trying to compare the Conservative Parties of other countries with those in the United States. They are far further left.

I don't knowabout all that. They're all about making govt more efficient and effective. They're all pro-foreign intervention. They all support managed trade agreements.

That's one of the good things and it's a big screw you to the global warming nutjobs. Many of these Conservatives in other countries aren't Conservative at all and are leftists.

That's almost certainly true. Abbot has instead pledged to institute a different climate change abatement plan (which appears to be far costlier in the long run). The important thing is that all parties in Australia are fervently committed to battling climate change.

See, in Australian politics they just don't have major parties that try to deny science. What, did you think their conservatives were as crazy as ours?

Huh? You appeared to believe that the conservative party was going to ditch labor's carbon tax plan. This is probably true. You conveniently neglected to mention that they are doing this and replacing it with their own carbon reduction plan.

You have to remember, global warming denialism is mostly a US phenomenon. I'm not aware of a single major party in any other country that denies climate change.

It was the worst result for Labor in 100 years and fucking Democrats like yourself will continue to lie and spin and spew bullshit about the election forever. One of the main reasons Abbott won was his stand on the Gillard Carbon Tax, no matter how much political chumps like yourself spin it, it was a monumental loss.

Agree completely. It's amazing how after losing they still try to spin their BS. Abbort will surely anger some of the global warming fools and this is good. Seeing them get their asses kicked is very nice to see.

lol. I think you just didn't know that the conservatives in Australia support climate change legislation.

Here, go look at his statement on the carbon tax!
http://www.liberal.org.au/our-plan-abolish-carbon-tax

While most of it is talking about how he will abolish the carbon tax, I've highlighted a few important parts:

On day one, the Environment Minister will instruct the Department to commence the implementation of the Coalition’s Direct Action Plan on climate change and carbon emissions.

As soon as the Carbon Tax is repealed, the Environment Minister will introduce legislation to enact the Coalition’s Direct Action Plan on climate change and carbon emissions.

Here's the party's environment page:
https://www.liberal.org.au/our-plan/environment

Not only do they want big climate change legislation, but they want to hire 15,000 people as an environmental cleanup army!

See overseas conservatives might do things I disagree with, but they aren't crazy like the conservatives in the US. They aren't stupid or ignorant enough to deny climate change.

The step your "forgot" to quote.

3. Scrap the Carbon Tax

We will help families get ahead by freeing them from the carbon tax, protecting Australian jobs and reducing cost-of-living pressures, especially rising electricity and gas prices.

If we ever found a way to harness the power of your lies and spin, the worlds energy problems would be solved.

Are you illiterate? I forgot to quote nothing.

I think it is pretty funny that you were all excited about the death of climate change legislation and didn't realize that the plan is to replace it with different climate change legislation.

I think you're smart enough to realize that the vast majority of conservative objections to US environmental policies relate to the increased tax portions of the proposals. Therefore, I believe that eliminating the tax sections in the US proposals would go a long way to placating said conservative objections, as well.

Implementing other solutions and ideas has never really been the problem...

You know that according to a recent poll that nearly sixty percent of republicans think climate change is a hoax, right?

A conservative from anywhere else in the world would probably be branded a socialist extremist maximus or something in the States. You may as well be saying the first world countries of the world have been taken over by Democrats.

MMGW debate != Climate Change debate. Conflating the two is intellectually dishonest.

What were the specific questions on the poll you're referring to?

False.

The overwhelming scientific consensus is that 1.) the earth's climate is changing due to increased CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere and that 2.) mankind plays a significant role in that. Your attempt to separate the two in order to imply that one is part of the consensus and the other is not is intellectually dishonest.

As for the polling, I can show you two different polls that show broadly similar results.

First is a poll as to people's opinions on conspiracy theories:
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/2011/PPP_Release_National_ConspiracyTheories_040213.pdf

If you check the crosstabs, 58% believe it is a 'hoax'.

Second would be a Pew Research poll on environmental views related to the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline:

http://www.people-press.org/2013/04/02/keystone-xl-pipeline-draws-broad-support/

Here again, less than half of Republicans even believe that there is solid evidence the Earth is warming at all, much less the amount that accept the scientific consensus on its cause.

You don't see numbers like this from adherents to other major parties in other parts of the world. It's willful denial of reality.

Agree. A carbon tax is just another way for these idiots to tax more and spend on idiotic programs and kill jobs. A carbon tax will not help the economy.

It's also strange how these global warming nutjobs don't say anything about China, India and Brazil who are building up their economies and using far more energy than the US. China and India are two of the biggest polluters yet nothing is asked from them to make any effort to lower the emissions.

Bunch of hypocrites is what they are.

I'm not a Republican but I really have to ask... "can you trust Al Gore?"

I sure as hell can't. I can trust Nader, but I can't trust the pro-war, emotionless, corporatist, oppurtunist Al Gore... the dude lies as much as Lyin' Ryan, he's like dick cheney.

I don't believe that where I live is warming much at all and there is really no single way to measure if the earth is warming anyway... to pretend that it can be measured with any accuracy is retarded and no one would be dumb enough to waste the resources to try.

Why would I need trust Al Gore? I trust over 90% of climatologists and peer-reviewed reviewed research papers.

I'm glad that you have decided to take a scientific approach to global temperature changes. Going outside your house and sticking your dick in the wind. It's less than 1 inch today? Climate change isn't happening¡!

I can't believe you just said no one can measure the temperature of the earths atmosphere and oceans. Literally, thats nucking futs.

You didn't just say temperatures in different locations all over the world can't be measured and recorded did you?
