As a white guy I don't see the confederate flag as offensive its more history and movie culture now. Having it fly at full mast all the time is a bit offensive.

Modern economy is about attracting the best and the brightest to your state. The Confederate flag, which in the minds of a significant percentage of educated young people has similar symbolism to burning crosses and KKK robes, is not going to help in this regard.
I'd support taking it down because it represents a nation that doesn't exist anymore. We wouldn't fly the flag of Nazi Germany in this country on our public institutions. Why the rebel flag? Both share a similar trait. Both are destroyed nations relegated to history books.
The Southern States still individually exist, and remain home to the families whose ancestors died in that war. I support keeping it because it's part of their heritage, and rebellion - the right of secession - is the American spirit, plus I'm just stubborn that way.
That Americans have become polarized and too intolerant to accept the South after 150 years have passed... that's a damn shame, but whose shame is that? Even those who fought the Civil War allowed the South to fly their flag.
I see lifted pick up trucks almost every day here in Florida with huge confederate flags on them.. toothless hicks driving it. I've heard them yell the N word from said vehicles.. they tail gate and harass people on the road.. fuck these proud to be southern losers. What are you proud of? The fact that you know how to make moonshine? That you own 25 guns? This is the USA not south vs north anymore you tards.
Put the damn flag in a museum if you must, remove it elsewhere. It is nothing but a symbol of hate and ignorance.

Rep. Brannon has forgotten the meaning of the Rebel flag, or the right of secession. The South does not honor the Confederate flag for the reason they seceded, but for their right to do so - for any reason. It's also to honor the Americans that died during the war.
I wonder if enough time has finally passed for the majority to disregard that heritage.

You make me want to enjoy when the Southwest does it.As much as I wish the south would leave the united states we had a war over it and the liberal north stomped the shit out of you simple folks. So no you dont have the right to secede but if you did you would need to take your portion of the debt.
