Conservative talk shows work to suppress news of the uprisings in Iraq

As I was out a bit today running errands, I happened to tune in to the likes of Medved (sp?) and Hannity and Limbaugh.

Much of their shows while I was listening to them was b!tching about all we hear from Iraq is bad news, nothing of the good coming out of it. While I agree I'd like to hear some of that good news, today is certainly not the day to be trying to do that. We have lost 13 of our own this weekend and numerous others injured. This is a serious situation and it's happening in various places in Iraq. Of course, seeing this uprising in the news is scaring the Bush fanboys as they're afraid their puppet will drop further in polls so they're trying to spin away the news and show the "Sunny side of Iraq."

In unrelated news, maniacal message board posters spin "terrorism" into "insurgence"...more on this later.

The uprisings are not terrorism, dumbass.

And, yes, you qualify for that term based on that idiotic post.

People die during war. I know this may come to a shock to you. If one spent every day recounting deaths, injuries, etc, how would discussion and progress be made? I know you want to label it as suppression, but it's not news that isn't being covered elsewhere.

Aww...the Bush fanboys have to come out and attack me.

Granted, most news of U.S. soldier deaths gets a minor mention but this is quite a bit different. This is the worst fighting we've had since taking over the country and it's not over yet. This is sustained fighting, not a car bomb or a sniper attack.

And to those who would label me, I laugh in your face. Go ahead, try and pin a political party label on me. It won't work as my stance on issues more than proves that.

I don't really see what your point of this thread is, unless it is nothing more to be a troll and encite an argument. Considering you took a stand based on your opinion of what you think is important from another person's radio show and stated they were suppressing news, it appears you are nothing more than a troll.

Far more people die every day from many other things. Yet we see little or no media coverage of that. By your logic, I could say that the liberal media works every day to suppress the news of death worldwide. :shrugs; What is my point? There is no point, just like this entire thread, which should be locked.

I happened to tune in to the likes of Medved (sp?) and Hannity and Limbaugh.
I don't think you "happened to tune in" to jack sh!t, conjur. Considering the fact that you seem to post more links to foxnews.com than just about anybody else, I think you've appointed yourself hall monitor for the right-wing media. Either that, or you actually like getting your panties in a twist.

They are sort of a known quantity. Don't like what they have to say? Don't tune in - simple as that.

Anyone listening to Rush, Hannity or conservative radio period, obviously isn't interested in the truth.

Not to minimize the loss of life in Iraq, but how many died in our inner cities this weekend?

Yeah...the Bush fanboys are out in force.

Sometimes, there is just no music on the radio that I like so I'll switch to the AM band and catch a few min. of the talk shows. They're usually good for a laugh or two.

As for those who think I've voted Democratically for the last 20 years...well...you're quite wrong. Just search the archives up here and you'll see where I was even supporting Bush last year in the war on Iraq (I, unfortunately, fell for his lies). You'll also find me defending Bush's victory in the 2000 election. But, I don't really have to explain myself...my posts speak for themselves.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, though. No political party is ever 100% right nor 100% wrong. That's why I go off of the issues. I'm a member of the anti-B.S. party and, right now, the Bush administration is producing tons of it.

So you are only concerned about deaths that you can make political hay out of?

At least the soldiers in Iraq died for a good cause: to liberate innocent people from torture, rape rooms, and the opression of a brutal dictator.

Just face it, Bush is going to win the election.
The world is becoming a better place because of his willingness to confront centers of evil. The weak allow themselves to be emotionally affected by the daily news instead of envisioning the end goal. I'm not trying to trivialize the loss of life we've endured in Iraq and and the pain felt by the families affected, but these numbers are nothing compared to past wars. If your mindset endured throughout our history as a nation, we would never have broken away from Britain.

Premise is flawed but what's new.

You can spin it as suppression if you wish but it means you are clueless as to what they are doing(atleast the ones I listen to). If you really think that talking about the positive things in Iraq equals trying "to suppress news of the uprisings" you need re-adjust your supposed non-partisan filter.

If anything there has been an attempt by the partisan media (both Television and Print) to suppress the good things that are happening in Iraq. But whatever helps you lefties sleep at night...

I don't want a new thread, I just want to put your comments in perspective.

Where's the "suppression of news" that you are talking about?
