Sensationalist journalism yet again. Guys have been doing this for years. And there is zero evidence that this is all done to be anti Obama or anti environmentalist. The self-ownage of this story is hilarious. They interview one person who says they talk to a lot of people who don't like Obama. That's news? But then they make the giant leap to say that guys, who are nothing but conservatives no less, are doing this just because they are anti-Obama or environmentalists. Stories like this make the real journalist cry. But of course many, even here, lap it up like the good sheeple they are.

Don't get me wrong, this is stupid but no more stupid than the people who eat this nonsense journalism up without question.

If you read the article you would notice that the person interviewed was a a seller of coal rolling customization equipment who would be more likely in the know as to why people customize their cars in that manner 2.)they acknowledge that this isn't new but has increased since 2011.

According to Google Trends, there were virtually no internet searches for "rolling coal" prior to February 2011. Since then, search volume for the term has increased over 700%.

But hey, I guess just because you read something doesn't mean you understood it.

What are you arguing here? Did you not see the stickers on the car that says Prius Repellant? Or do you just believe they hate small cars?

Btw, no one is arguing that this is ALL done because people hate Obama and the environmentalists. I'm sure there is a subset of the stupid that are even stupider and think this is cool.

These modifications are not new, but as Slate's Dave Weigel pointed out on Thursday, "rolling coal" has begun to take on a political dimension with pickup drivers increasingly viewing their smokestacks as a form of protest against environmentalists and Obama administration emissions regulations.

Sad, really. Couldn't they find a better way to protest instead of wasting fuel and polluting the air? Maybe if these people were forced to live someplace like China or Pakistan or Afghanistan; they would appreciate the value of clean air.
