How many people know just how much cash these guys are dumping into their trucks?
They are starting with the highest end trucks, diesel superduties, usually crew or super cab. Then start messing with the engine, which costs boat loads, esp when something breaks. Injectors are around $3k+/set, then fuel pumps, turbos, etc. Not to mention everything is costly as it gets so big, like oil changes and tire/wheels.

As to pollution, as a Christian, I believe we are to be good stewards of the resources and environment we have been given as we will be called to account for our actions. What I will not do as a Christian is put the created (the Earth) above my Creator(God). So while "saving the planet" is a cute notion, "saving the lost" trumps it.

I'm guessing local law enforcement cares less about what the EPA thinks. They are more likely to get involved because of the safety aspect. Fairly certain its against laws governing safe operation of a vehicle. EPA laws don't really come into play here. So who really gives a hoot what the EPA says on the matter?

That's just sad. The fact of the matter is that they are purposely spewing large amounts of DPM, a toxic air contaminant and a known carcinogen, into the atmosphere, a shared resource that we all breathe.
What they're doing is pretty much equilivant to purposely dumping benzene or mercury into a town's drinking water supply. I can't imagine local law enforcement not getting into that.
I never said local law enforcement isn't going to get involved. I am sure they will. But it won't be for environmental reasons/laws. I know that's going to make liberal heads explode but that's the way it goes.
