my girlfriend asked what i thought about marriage. rather than lie and not get her mad at me, i told her the truth. i told her i didn't really want to get married. she assumed i meant 'no, i just wanna have sex with every girl out there', which is true but i didnt mean it at the moment. her exact words were "i'm seriously contemplating our relationship".

I'm getting married this summer, I'm 24. That long enough?

Seriously though, for the past few years I've thought about being a father, having someone to come home to, not having to deal with the whole dating thing anymore. Used to be I thought my dad was a horrible parent, and I swore I'd be better than him someday, now I look back and realize he was actually pretty good at it, and I can't wait to have kids of my own to bounce on my knee and do all sorts of fun stuff with.

Yes, I'm wandering if it's worth getting married. Sometimes I feel like it's not even worth my time to date...

I didn't get married until I was almost 30. :music: I screwed around and fell in love. :music:
As it turned out, the feeling was actually gas.

i figure, if i get married, marriage problems are pretty much 100% unavoidable....i'll spend countless amounts of time and effort and money only to run into a divorce 10 years later (if that long). Then ill be so regretful, i'll have no choice but to kill her

...j/k

.....maybe

Another thing, people tend to get married too soon. You should know someone a long time and live with them before you get married so you know what you're getting into.

I need to find me a dudette who's willing to just be my solo shag partner without having to go through this whole marriage crap. Really, what's the point if you not religious? You can say you'll love them and stay with them for the rest of your life, but then divorces wouldn't exist if those words were true would they? Not that I'm against divorces. What's the point of staying with someone if you're miserable?

my brother is gonna br 50yrs old and has never been married, has no children. this was his choice, as he says he does not ever want to pay what he calls vaginamony.

he sees quite a few ladies though. He works when he wants, spends his money as he likes... he travels all over the country, most of the times on a whim... his townhouse (in $$$ neighborhood) was paid in cash, he has other property and will retire a very comfortable man in 5yrs.

if he ever gets the hankering for spending times with kids, he has plenty of neices and nephews.

but you die in your 40s of a heart attack because you don't have a wife nagging you about your habits

Maybe more people would be happier in marriages if they did think twice instead of just jumping in because it felt right.
