Prices are always bad in the UK compared to you guys in the US. I mean the Titan came in at about £1000 but for you guys it was $1000? At nearly 2:1 dollar pound, that means we got totally screwed. But what you gonna do? When it gets cheaper to buy a plane ticket and a card at the same time, I'll make the journey.

I guess I have no choice but to overclock, I saw a benchmark with the 7950 performing 30% better after an overclock. On some games, it REALLY made the difference. From a stuttering 29fps right up to 45fps. Also I don't believe in AA as a rule. Gaming at 1080p I'd rather lose AA and gain the extra FPS than turn down resolution or details. AA is only an option for me on older games, where I'm hitting 120fps+ anyways. Again I'm pleased that the drivers have finally got around the SC2 problem. What do you guys think of these cards...

Hopefully prices will continue to drop until my money comes in at the end of the month.

The drivers didn't get around the SC2 problem. It's just at the high end, AMD cards have the brute force power to overcome any playability issues with SC2 in general (I have absolutely no problems playing it at max on my 5850 though...). The game, like it's WoW counterpart, favors Nvidia cards for some reason. As a result, the 580 is neck and neck with the 7950 in SC2 according to Anandtech's bench, albeit at a significantly higher power load.

I'd go with the 760.

why did you pick the above card. here is sapphire hd 7950 flex for 214 pounds. good cooler, better price and more popular brand. sapphire is to amd what evga is to nvidia.

Stop recommending [edited] cards.

Stop using profanity in technical forums.

Check overclockers.co.uk, they are doing some mad deal ATM. MSI 7950 for 176£, 7870 150£, 7970 260£, they had gf670 for ~180£ a while ago.

OP HD 7950 can be had for 200 - 220 pounds. is that out of your budget. and why ebay ? also stick with custom coolers. ref HD 7950 cooler sucks

Well those links I put are Ebay links, but the items are being sold by the official Scan.co.uk computer shop, just through their Ebay Z-Shop. I guess I prefer their Ebay items listing as it makes things easier to see. Scan has a dodgy system for displaying products on their official website! ^^
