Well, you guys are really making me rethink this decision, thats for sure. I looked at it again last night and think I still want it. It will polish up well and take a few weeks to get it to where I want it, but I still think it will be a fun project. I'd love to give it to my dad to ride around his marina and keep it there when i come down to ride around also. Decisions/decisions.

Considering all the newer, larger, better used bikes out there, even if it cost you more money, I wouldn't even want that bike if free.
At certain times of the year in this area (where we have winter), there are often many used bikes in front of houses being sold cheaply and the sellers are motivated to sell them for a variety of reasons.

its not too hard to switch out the front end and get some disc brakes on that sucker either. put a good cafe seat set up on it and get that sucker roasting.

Bikes are worth more now. I've done my homework. No reason I shouldn't be able to get $1500 or more out of it when I'm cleaning it up and fixing normal wear items.

No way, no how. Maybe one of the larger CBs or something that has been restored AND upgraded, but you would be lucky to get $1000 for the bike you uploaded pics of even if it was in excellent condition and during springtime.

They are worth more now because it's spring, but that bike has no intrinsic value like an old triumph or ducati.

It has rust coming through the powdercoat on the front of the swingarm. I would bet money the tank is rusted out, and it has 100% definitely spent a good bit of time out in the elements. It's not what I would consider a 'barnyard find' where you can clean the carbs, POR the tank and have a really decent bike.

Seriously man, unless you get it for $200-$300-MAYBE $400 I would pass.

As long as the frame and motor are good and especially if it runs it's worth at least $500-600. Figure if he can get it in good running order, clean and polish it up a bit he can double his money easily.

Granted I haven't seen the pics yet.

I've seen basket case CB750s going for over $1000 around here.

For some reason, the older hondas go for quite a bit around here

These are just in lawrence. Now that temps have been in the 80s all week, these are going to start coming out of the woodwork.

These 600cc and > bikes don't count, totally different league.

The 350s you listed are in 'excellent running condition' with adjusted valves, new brakes, completely overhauled and being sold at the beginning of spring. Plus they're still for sale, which says a lot in itself.

The only one even close is the $800 one, which is still in better shape and doesn't have any rust like yours. IMO you'd be better off talking him down to $500 if you're just flat-out insisting on a cb350.

Both of those look practically mint. If you're hell-bent on a cb350 then spend the extra $500 and buy one that's running rather than spend $600 on a basket case.

Sorry man but I'm not visiting this thread again unless you buy the bike. If you have your horns locked on buying that particular bike then just do it, no need to convince us.

I'm not wanting to buy it anymore. I'm just showing you guys who said they are a dime a dozen. There's very little difference between the bikes listed and the one I'm looking at (certainly not $800+ price difference)
