Trump is the biggest fraud, the worst traitor, the worst POTUS, tops the list of who I want to hear just died. I will dance on that day and basically just celebrate.
thoseLets say the now thinkable happens and we end up with an authoritarian government!
Their first command is of coffee, pets, equality, TV, welfare, free speech, alcohol, cars, social media, passport.. you can keep only 3!
Which would you choose?
those
As you can see, I really am a progressive
Well, from a personal perspective, I wouldn't need the welfare. Yes, my passport would let me GTFO. Should Trump win, that will be on my mind immediately.I picked equality, free speech and a passport to GTFO!

But look at the profits of our medical system. Totally worth it!It's already been on my mind because even if I was a stupid single issue voter.. kicking criminal migrants out wouldn't be my first and most important issue.
It'd be healthcare..

I'm on Medicare, so at least so far I've been able to afford my medical coverage. But getting all I'd like out of my top-rated HMO has proven to be quite the challenge. Now, info I've seen is that if I was Canadian it would probably be tougher, a lot tougher. You won't go broke but you might be waiting like forever to get treated. It's already been on my mind because even if I was a stupid single issue voter.. kicking criminal migrants out wouldn't be my first and most important issue.

Results vary. I've heard those stories about Canadian (and UK) healthcare, but also stories of it going significantly better than the US. Even in our paid system, sometimes you get to wait. I know someone that had scheduled a consultation for surgery, the date was a few months out. Time passes, the consult gets bumped another few months to the next year. When my son was referred to a specialist for a thyroid issue, the nearest appointment was months out.I'm on Medicare, so at least so far I've been able to afford my medical coverage. Here, it’s weeks for a nurse practitioner and months for a doctor. I haven’t had a primary care physician in nine years, none available. I go to urgent care on the rare occasions I need a doctor. The issues politicians argue about wrt healthcare are laughably disconnected from my reality.

I got surgery on both hands, carpal tunnel release, 12 and 6 weeks ago. Wait wasn't very long at all, but my diagnosis was SEVERE both hands, so that undoubtedly factored in. They were outpatient, less than an hour and out the door after a short recovery from anesthesia (less than an hour, but I was required to be driven home). They scheduled me first thing in the morning, like get there at 6:00AM.Results vary. Do I recall you saying you have Kaiser? I've heard generally good things about them.I got surgery on both hands, carpal tunnel release, 12 and 6 weeks ago. Wait wasn't very long at all, but my diagnosis was SEVERE both hands, so that undoubtedly factored in.
Top rated, yeah, but everybody says they are in a rush, and I've found that to be pretty much the m.o. Seldom do you get the feeling that they are taking their time with you. They have a lot of good doctors, is my experience. However, when I had a foot problem about 20 years ago I must have gone through 1/2 dozen of their local podiatrists, no solution. Then I went out of network and saw a woman doctor close to me who recommended a Kaiser podiatrist who was 60 miles from me (Santa Rosa, CA). He was a former Olympic qualifier in the marathon. He correctly diagnosed my problem and operated on me, in Santa Rosa. I had to drive there multiple times, of course, and for follow up. He's retired now. That and the recent carpal tunnel surgeries either side of Xmas are the only times they've operated on me. Well, I had a colonoscopy, that's not exactly an operation, it's an inspection.Do I recall you saying you have Kaiser? I've heard generally good things about them.
Alcohol, alcohol, alcohol to cope with the loss of the others of courseLets say the now thinkable happens and we end up with an authoritarian government!

I never use alcohol to cope. Absolutely never.Alcohol, alcohol, alcohol to cope with the loss of the others of course
If nobody is allowed alcohol though, you can get the rest if you have enough alcohol.I never use alcohol to cope. Absolutely never.
I have tons of alcohol in the house, all manner. Whiskeys, gin, vodkas, tequilas, wine, brews of various kinds, a slew of liqueurs. I never go for any of it when under stress. If nobody is allowed alcohol though, you can get the rest if you have enough alcohol.
