My work group is hiring. When we find a good candidate, of course there is some reason why they can't be hired. I put forth the conspiracy theory (and advertised it as such) that this is by design. The whole scenario is setup so that we can't hire anyone in the first place.

No I'm not frustrated, why do you ask?

That's because they want to bring a temporary foreign worker on the cheap. Obviously you can never get a local candidate.

Conspiracy theory: As population collapse is eminent across the western hemisphere we're magically going to conjure anti-dementia and ant age medicines that will keep us working for another 10-20 years in order push off the collapse.

Are they all Republicans who want cheap overseas labor and to blame Biden?

surprisingly no. i think the powers that be don't want to hire anyone, period. at least, not in my group. despite the fact that we could use the additional people

So your group dont directly earns or contributes to the bottom line. Typical management thinking only of their own next review

It may actually be the "standard practice" atm as tech workers are having trouble landing new jobs if they leave their old one.

i'm in more traditional engineering than tech, but we've had a fairly high turnover IMO and HR/management think it's either an acceptable rate or just don't care. Neither is a good look. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for me, I'm in a bit of a golden handcuffs scenario. I get paid well, my health insurance kicks ass (very important for me), I get a good amount of time off, and all things considered...my job is not that stressful.

How long before Trump proposes putting water instead of gas into cars as gas prices are too high?

Conspiracy: AI *is* the second coming of Christ.

As coined by many in regards to AI: Gods will walk the earth and we will have created them.

Maybe it's the only path forward for mankind, this politics thing is obviously not working out too well for us, maybe our only shot at a future is the hand over the leash to AI.

Maybe RFK jr will suggest using 1 part gas to 1 million parts water? Homeopathy is surely his sort of thing, no?

Conspiracy.. Homeopathy is actually legit but amateurs make it look stupid!

It's because they want to feed the narrative that people don't want to work, while maximimizing their profit margins, as they try to keep from paying better wages and benefits. . lt's been happening across the country in nearly all fields. they will maintain such stance as long as the current employees keep picking up the slack, and doing more work, as long as they continue to meet production goals, project/product delivery dates, etc. Now, you want to ask why feed the narrative that people don't want to work? So they can push the blame onto the work force and not their lack of living wages, benefits, qaulity of life, etc., and so they can computerize and automate as much as they can.

No, homeopathy is not legitimate. The placebo effect is, however.

Bullshit!

I've personally seen people get better over 30+ years and willingly give cash for homeopathic meds. And no they're not terminally ill hoping for a magic cure.

You are probably calling it my mythical imagination.

Ok now calm the fuck down.

you have to understand 1 thing..

AUTOIMMUNE CONDITIONS

What works for 1 person doesn't exactly work for the next person in the same way.

Say 2 women get breast implants.. 1 is absolutely fine.. 1 has breast implant illness (mythical imagination) which doesn't exist according to many many doctors.

Autoimmunity is a vast complex thing that generic medical science doesn't fully understand or give notice to..

And I think I'm not alone in having doctors recommend tylenol to me for pain relief but it does absolutely NOTHING for me and I have to take Ibuprofen.

Same thing for BP meds.. Amlopidine did absolutely nothing for me. Lisinopril either.. but Lisinopril HCTZ does work for me.

Different meds work better for different people. And homeopathy does work on SOME even if not all!

Are you conflating ALL alternative medicine with homeopathy? Homeopathy is a very specific pseudoscience.
