I had a thought..

With MAGA fully showing our form of government doesn't work and we need an authoritarian dictatorship to get things done..

Why don't the dems start by promoting direct democracy that government doesn't work with shitty elected officials and instead the country should be directly run by the people.

Every issue that qualifies.. have a national vote by smartphone and address things rather than letting things linger in congress forever.

Ofcourse the corporate lackeys won't favor it, but I think it's beyond time the dems started fighting back and showing why democracy doesn't work and how to fix it.

I have an easier thought regarding changing the EC.
Hey folks in battleground States do you like seeing hundreds of political ads per day? If you don’t let’s vote to abolish the EC and just have every vote count the same.

Looking it up, it seems that one of the sources (_the_ source?) cited, "Executive Intelligence Review" was published by Lydon Larouche. The infamous former-Trotskyist-turned-strange-conspiracy-theorist-and-cult-leader. I might be misremembering the specifics, but his followers always seemed a bit bonkers to me (believing in a secret 'war' between the Vatican and the British royal family, the latter in league with 'the Jews'). The David Icke of his day. So that doesn't strike me as a particularly credible source.

All the same, it's fascinating what a long overhang the USSR has - what started as an ideologically-motivated scheme to change the world then morphed into a means of furthering the power and paranoid self-interests of Stalin as an individual - with a trace of residue ideology and a lot of added Russian nationalism mixed in - and now seems to have continued, under Putin, long after the collapse of the country and regime and even belief-system that spawned it, to the point that these sorts of stories about Trump can appear at least vaguely plausible.

The thing about "the battle of wounded ear" is that if the injury was anywhere near as severe as they'd made out it would only benefit them to release/produce actual medical reports from his treatment. The fact that they're not (coupled with the copious amounts of photographic evidence) kind of implies that it was either something so terribly minor to show almost no evidence afterwards, or just made up completely.

That picture above is from this weekend BTW. A 78yr old with a supposed 2cm hole in his ear is just not going to heal completely by now. Especially in someone who has a mix of ketchup and big mac sauce as the main ingredient in their blood.
