I like this one. HIV has some properties that were unknown until it was discovered and studied pretty intensely for a few years. And somehow some scientists working in secret were able to invent it in the 70s when just sequencing small bits of DNA was difficult. Let alone manipulating it into a 'brand new' pathological virus.

I like this one. HIV has some properties that were unknown until it was discovered and studied pretty intensely for a few years. While most theories are a ton of BS, I almost feel just as sad for the people that dismiss everything right off the bat.

I once worked with a guy who believed the horse race gambling industry was waging a targeted campaign against him by 'innocently' subjecting him to subliminal messages. For example, if a tractor trailer drove by which had a picture of apples on it (think grocery store produce), he was expected to make the association that horses like apples, healthy horses run faster, so he should immediately go to the tracks and lay down some bets. Of course, 'They' knew his entire daily routine, and had the resources to dedicate vehicles to driving past him frequently for just this purpose.
He was a really nice guy, but a bit paranoid.

no he wasn't paranoid. He had an addiction(gambling) and was justifying it and deferring responsibility like most addicts do.

i agree. i have always thought that the best way for the goverment to hide something is to get it labeled a crackpot theory. As i said in the other thread the bomb shelter one was labeled as a crackpot theory that ended up as true. IF people are able to label something that is beliavable as a crackpot theory then less people are going to believe those that are kinda out there.
