BUMP for a great deal.

CR is a GREAT resource that everyone should look at before making that next mid to larger purchase.

Not to threadcrap, but if you base your future purchases off of info from CR only then you need your head examined.

CR's notorious for reviewing automobiles, one a domestic and the other an import. BOTH cars were manufactured at the SAME plant, and often by the SAME people using the SAME materials and having nearly IDENTICAL features, and the import was rated higher.

Don't believe me? Google "Consumer Reports Bias" and see what happens.

"Our sponsor, the Vintage Superstore, pays for a large portion of the price of the magazine, many magazines are completely free. In return, you agree to allow the sponsor to send you a small volume of promotional email. Currently the volume averages about 1 mail per month." This is from a sponsor information dialog box that AUTCLOSES PRETTY FAST NOT GIVING YOU TIME TO READ IT. I'd use a disposeable email address and CC number, seems very suspicious.

Well I'm not the smartest one the world & I'd rather someone else do the research . It works for me, besides it's not my only source but a good source.

FWIW, for those of you that already subscribe to CR, I got a coupon from them in the mail Saturday to get their web reports for $1 per month. Even though it's about the same as their mag I'm going to give it a shot.

Saying "not to threadcrap" doesn't actually negate your crap. ALthough I concur with you, especially about their speaker reviews -- they rank speaker like its the 1950s by bass and treble output.

Maybe my wording wasn't the greatest, but my point was made. I've got a relative who swears by them and has told me that his Honda Civic was the greatest purchase he ever made and my Dodge is a POS since it has to go into the shop every 6 months or so. Too bad he drives his Civic about 5K miles/year and I drive my Durango about 25K/year and I am only doing scheduled maintenance to keep it running well.

Wow, thanks. can I use that in my signature?

LOL. Thanks for the post and I for one appreciate differing views in threads. I think there is a fine line between differing views and thread crapping and it's too bad more people can't see the that line and lump everything into "thread crapping."

Err... care to name the cars in question or are you just making up crap? Also, though some cars are based off the other, many times they are not the same.

Take for instance the Geo Prism. This was a variant of the Corolla but with less features.
Cars can share similar platforms but have significant differences.
