Contact Lens Exam Fee

Basically I just want to know price quotes. I'm not talking about the normal eye exam fee either, only what is paid for the contact lens fitting. I paid $65 dollars, and a $15 dollar deductable for the eye exam.

my insurance covered the regular eye exam but they chraged 50 or 55 dollars for the contact lens fitting fee or whatever bull shit name they call it. it was a rip off because i just order mine from online. sobs..

Whatever costco charges. I've stopped spending hours shopping around for contact deals when they're usually close to the cheapest and hassle free. I love just being able to make an appt every year and not mess with this.

I wonder what would happen if you went to Costco but had perfect eyes, yet didn't tell the optometrist this and then tried to get a pair of glasses.

It was $50 out of pocket for me. I also do not have insurance at the time, but now buy into the "group" buying program like VSP. for 10 a month, I get most things half off. So while not a lot, it totals about $50-200 savings depending on if I am buying my normal glasses also. (I normally just wear contacts)

I had to do the same thing. They were real thorough though, and brought me back for followup exams.

This. I went to Costco, and it was fast and cheap. Very similar service compared to the places that charge a lot more.

In my area (central FL) most places I called charge $90-120 for a contact lens exam (without insurance). I pay $120 because I have astigmatism in my right eye, so it requires additional measurements.

I'll be undergoing LASEK in a couple days, so I'm hoping those days are over.

One of my eye docs has a sign up that says something like 25 for eyeglass exam and 85 for contact one.

Insurance usually doesn't cover contact lens fittings (as they are considered cosmetic), so it ranges from $50-$100 depending on where you go.

I think I paid $83 with my $5 copay (insurance covered the glasses part and I paid for the contact fitting).

My eye doctor wants to charge ~200 for a contact lense prescription (this is after a regular eye exam/glasses prescription). So i get my regular checkup there (costs me very little with insurance) and get my contact lense prescription from Costco (~100).
