contacts you can wear for a week+ without ever taking out?

are there any contacts that you can put in and forget about for a week or so at a time? Like sleep, shower, exercise, etc. in without ever taking out.

Anyone have any experience with them?

If I went to the eye doctor and got an eye contact prescription and then purchased daily contacts, can I use that same prescription to buy these weekly+ contacts? Would I need any new appointments?


edit: going away for a month and don't want to have to put in and take out new daily contacts every day. would only need a week or two of these week+ kind, then go back to dailies (which I like)

Optix Night and Day. I wear them for a month+ straight usually. I assume the prescription is the same.

I wear Acuvue Oasis lenses - eye doc said I can wear them six days a week continously, and glasses on the seventh day. I haven't worn glasses in months...I just try to take the lenses out when I go to sleep a couple times during the week.

fort lewis, washington for a training thing. will be outside most of my time. and yes, some seasonal allergies

I just used the standard 2 week disposables. I think they are Acuvue Oasis ones. I've had this pair in since mid April and only took them out once to soak for a night.

AFAIK you're not supposed to wear Acuvue Oasys overnight (while you sleep), so I think those are disqualified from what's been requested.

I didn't like the "Night & Day" contacts. Highly convenient but they just didn't fit me right. You don't need a different prescription.

Just because you shouldn't doesn't mean you can't.

High oxygen count lenses are definitely more convenient. But if you haven't worn contacts for a while, you may not be able to wear them for extended wear. I also can wear mine for a month.

she said my prescription has "aquacomfort dailies" written on it and therefore cannot be used to purchase weekly ones until my doctor approves those

They are incredibly uncomfortable so it's not worth it.

Acuvue Oasys are basically the best and most comfortable. They CAN be worn overnight so if you spend the night over someone else's fucking around, you don't have to worry about it. It reduces the life span though of the contacts.

i love the oasys contact lenses; been wearing them for 5 years. Time to renew my prescription for my lenses.
