Yeah, my dad died of viral myocarditis back in 95, when it was very hard to identify and doctors weren't really trained on it. Autopsy couldn't identify the specific virus, but the thought it was likely a standard cold virus. Just for some reason, sometimes it gets into your blood stream and can get to your heart."raises hand"
Scary stuff, chest pains and the full meal deal trip to the cath lab because they could not hear it.
@Muse we are not letting down our guard either. Our friend has several grandchildren and that was most likely the vector. That is sad shit when you kill grandpa.
From my understanding it's mostly random with maybe a tiny bit of genetics.
