Controller difference xbox vs ps4

So ive been playing xbox one for as long as i can remember and ive pretty much mastered the "art" of xbox gaming and its controls. But since all my friends play ps4 im switching to ps4. So im just wondering if id still be good at gaming controls when switching to ps4 controllers. Since the controllers seem really different from each other and i dont want to be known as the "noob" of my group of friends

I don't know if you'll still be good at gaming controls when switching to a PS4 controller. It would more than likely take some time to get used to the differences.

If you find that you're unable to adapt, you can use an Xbox One controller with your PS4.

Why don't you try and see. I own both consoles and have no problem playing either.

The 360 controller was hands down better than the PS3 controller but this generation I think the PS4 is the better controller. The bumpers on the new Xbox controller suck as they changed the position of them compared to the 360 and the Dpad still sucks as usual. I definitely find the PS4 more comfortable this time around.

DS4 is the worst controller of the 3 (counting Pro controller for Switch) IMO. It's pretty much the PS1 design still with very minor changes, and that controller was designed in the 90's. I hate the analog stick positions of it, especially the left one, since it's not in the natural prime position. They still have the dpad there for some stupid reason.

Best PS4 controller is the Aim controller though! I'm playing through Farpoint right now and holy shit it's incredible!

The DS4 is more comfortable IMO than the Xbox controller. It seems to fit naturally in my hands and is nicely rounded off where it matters. Though the XB1 elite controller, which I have, is better than the DS4 to me. Anyhow on topic, you will be fine. The controller's triggers feel natural with their concave shape and the controller is both wider than the PS3's version was and the analog sticks are spaced further apart if you remember that or have experienced that one. The only limitation I can think of would be the battery life which may or may not affect you. For me I've never played long enough for a full charge to go to 0% during game play. Others like to thrash the controller as being unusable because the battery doesn't last through whatever insane marathon session they have going.

All in all I can use any controller from any of the consoles be it PS4, XB1, or Switch pro controller and I don't miss a beat. They are honestly all fine and work well enough that I don't have any major hangups. Though if I'm being honest the Nintendo pro controller does have the worst dpad. It's small and is prone to missfiring the direction when you are pressing it quickly left to right. You can often get an accidental up or down. Anyway that's irrelevant.
