Conventional cooling or HEATPIPE?

What type of cooling would keep ones CPU the coolest?
At constant idle temperatures? At constatant high temperatures? Overall?

There aren't many heatpipe reviews I've found so far, so any input would be good.


Oh, one final thing. I know it says senior member, but I havent kept up with hardware in the last year and have stopped overclocking.

I think I've seen a couple heatsinks with heatpipes on them, and compared to those I think you'd be better off with something like an slk 800 or other conventional heatsinks. Now in the future (talking several years from now), we may be using heatpipe based coolers much more as I read in an article posted on slashdot recently. But those were far more advanced...

I guess there aren't many Socket A Heatpipe cooling solutions, or any chip other than video I guess. Maybe when they are more abundant I will ask the forum again. Thanks for the input everman.
