Cool 'n' Quiet on Albatron K8X800?

Hey all,

Has anyone gotten C'n'Q working on the Albatron K8X800 Pro II? I've tried every bios that I can find (up to a 1.07 that I found on some odd website) and can't find one that supports C'n'Q.

Anyone have any ideas?

No it doesn't, that's why I ask. The review for this Mobo on X-Bit Labs claims that it supports C 'n' Q even though it isn't documented but maybe they're smoking crack. Maybe I'll send an email to their reviewer.

Sounds like no CQ yet. Should be just a bios update to enable. Since initially some of the other boards didn't have CQ. Then they released bioses with the CQ support.
Did you just try installing the driver from AMD's site. Your ACPI has to be ver 2.0. Then install the driver and see if your processor is listed in device manager. Should be a listing called processors. Then see if it's enabled anyways. Set power management to minimal power management.

Since it has to set to minimal power management for CQ on other boards. If you use always on or any other power management choices the CQ turns off. Maybe they have it enabled automatically.

I have the albatron k8x800 pro II board, and when I installed the somewhat new AMD driver that enabled cool and quiet, and there was another step like enabling power management to some level, my system would crash on boot up. I haven't investigated it further. Here are the instructions I followed

C/Q on my K8V works as soon as acpi 2.0 and the bios option are enabled, I didn't have to do anything with the power management (I can change the power settings, C/Q still works).

I got a K8V also if I don't select minimal power management. Like anything else presentation, max battery etc...Then cpu goes full speed.

The funny thing is, the AMD website says that the K8X800 supports it, but it lists an unseen/unreleased ver1.07A bios revision.
