You need to move to a country where war and destruction are everyday life, then tell me how cool war is.

I'm not being an uptight prick, but it makes us Americans look both ignorant and arrogant to parade around touting how "cool" war is.

Even more ironic, the OP is from Canada, a socialist country, like all socialist countries, that only exists and thrives because of the victories the United States has stepped up and secured on the battlefield, in the business world, in scientific laboratories, and in numerous other fields; and so I find that to be very unappreciative of him.

See, thats where your wrong.

There is something incredibly cool about dropping a 2000 pound guided munition on a house of sand and mortar and watching it turn the house back to dust, leave a big crater.....And send 5 enemies to the Everafter.

Wow. I've walked around that Gothic Cathedral in Cologne many times and recognize many of the bombed-out surroundings. The Germans re-built much of that.

Yup,
as soon as i saw that, i knew it was Koeln

I bet the 9/11 terrorists thought the same thing. I guess that way of thinking is contagious.

The best policy is the punish those who do wrong, but let them and all others know that we dislike it just as much as they do and wish it could have been resolved a different way.

I'm sure it did. But you just stand on the sideline smoking pot and pointing fingers at everyone.

Only the lower clas...ugh I won't go there.

I do not and have never "smoked pot" or used any sort of drugs, alcohol, or off the shelf high caffeine energy drinks. (That last one was tounge in cheek.)

Also, if you're implying that I'm some sort of pot smoking liberal hippy, please bother to read my signature before making such a foolish comment. I'm the uber Libertarian.

When you move away from the confines of your parent's house and form a coherent opinion, instead of the mix of political jumble you heard off a Kanye West or Green Day album (or whichever MTV bubble gum pop act kids your age spend their time mimicking), your opinion will matter more.

Absolutely they thought that way!
Which is why its imperitive we wage this war we're waging. So it doesnt happen again.
The simple fact of the matter is, we WILL have to fight them. Now, when a young individual of Middle Eastern decent walks into a grocery store or bank with a backpack on do you know why I'm not sh1tting little green apples?
Because we're waging that war in the Middle East, rather then putting on blinders and saying "It wont happen again...It wont happen again..."

Of course, but we must do it in a humble and disappointed (for the terrorists, that they fell victim to a terrible ideology) manner, not with a "don't mess with us punk" attitude.

As Thomas Paine once said, "The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.," and so we must only punish those who have done wrong. To strike fear and intimidate the majority of Muslim and Middle Eastern people is to punish them all, which if you're in agreement with Paine, is un-American. All peaceful Muslim and Middle Eastern people should be treated as "brethren" (as Paine put it) of "peace" and told that they are one of us and we're helping not only ourselves, but all peace loving and tolerant citizens of the world, including them, but without showing mercy for those who have wronged us.

Arrogance is uncivilized and will be our downfall, and if we're not careful will only create more terrorists than we destroyed.

Punish those who have wronged us, but help others in the middle of this battle (Middle Easterns) understand our plight and draw similarities and correlations between us and them so they can feel a sense of community with us and our causes, whose intentions I hope, but not always sure, are for the benefit of the entire world.

It's s free country for me to state my opinion as well.

And it's also a free country for us to help build or help destroy philosophically, which was the implication of my post.

To act as if war was a "cool video game," is to destroy our society.

Holy crap man, all people are doing in this thread are posting more or less surreal pictures of war that most of us don't ever see. No one has had a "don't mess with us punk" attitude.

Who in here is saying war is a cool video game? Except the 12 yr old that posted a pic of CS.

Which is why we're holding elections in Iraq and not admiring the glass formations that were made from sand by a liberal application of Canned Sunshine.

To be entertained by a picture of war is indeed a "don't mess with us attitude."

But moreso, I was speaking of the general consensus of most Americans and the unwarranted hatred for Middle Eastern people.
