My order still says "Sent To Warehouse" as of 1/3/03 when I ordered on 12/30 - I've got a BAAAAD feeling about this.

Heh - it even says "Ships in 24 to 48 hours" now - it wouldn't shock me if this is "punishment" for getting in before they yanked the Free Shipping off; getting sent to the back of the line.

Price is now 91.99 AIR and somehow miraculously free shipping is back. You still could possibly PM this to Staples B&M if the manager at your local store isn't a d*ck about web pricematching.

129.99 - 91.99 = 38 difference + 3.80 (10% of diff) = 88.19 + 11.81 (stuff - a cart for this printer is around 11.99) - 20 off 100 coupon = 80...it's not 41.99, but it's lower than 91.99

EDIT: If you're still using ATA66, there are NO BIOSes to upgrade ATA66 to 48-bit LBA. Sorry.

Why don't you start your own board about bottom of the line printers that you can monitor and snivel about. You obviously can't comprehend. It seems "Ingles sin bareras" is not working. Sweet! My order has been in sent to warehouse since 12/30 also. I sent buy.com an email, after learning much to my amazment that you have to pay $9.95 to talk to a customer service person on the phone. I got a generic email reply that did not answer my question but the next email was the tracking info for my printer. It was shipped yesterday. I think buy.com has some issues.

They will have to have a very good deal for me to even consider using them again but at least I have my printer on the way!!!

I feel jerked around. No less than 12 hours from the point where it said "available in 24 to 48 hours," they send an email saying "still looking."

I suspect they're trying to shake loose people so they don't lose money on selling their whole stock for 91.99 shipped free, since printers don't usually come in small boxes, and they'd have a LOT to gain by order cancellations. If they wait until on or near January 31st, it'll possibly mean they're going to wait to shake people loose who want the rebate, since the rebate is good until the 31st of January.

I'd like to be more civil, but what can you say about a superstore that charges 9.95 for the privledge to speak to a human being? Even the shadiest of online retailers usually have a FREE number to call.

I wonder how buy.com would like to earn the rep of being like a TigerDirect.

Same here, ordered on 12/30 early afternoon. Saw some posts at FW saying new backorder date being 1/16 to 1/25. That leaves little time to catch the rebate.
