Is anyone using this processor, without the retail HSF? If so, what are you cooling it with? I was looking at the Thermalright SLK-800 as a possibility. Motherboard is an ECS L7S7A2. I'm not overclocking, but do want good cooling.

Thanks!

Any thermalright product matched with a YS Tech Adjustable fan should do nicely

SLK800 and a Panaflo should do nicely if you dont plan on overclocking. The Y.S. Tech would be good for overclocking and just plain adjustability.

SLK800 or SK7 + YS-Tech or Panaflo

If you intend to overclock, i'd go with the SLK800 and YS Tech

I have the coolermaster HHC-001 pure copper HSF on the BArton 2500. According to ASUS pc Probe I run at 36C under load and 33C idle.

I'm using an Alpha Pal8045 with a Crystal-Tech 80mm Blue LED fan. My 2500+ is stable at 2.27GHz.

i took the 60mm fan off mine, put on a 60-80mm fan adapter, then went to CompUSA and bought an Antec LED 80mm case fan and put that in there.

I know the stock fan of the HHC-001 is some 36cfm, but when i bought the replacement fan for some reason i was thinking it was a 32cfm, so i bought a 34cfm replacement, then only to realize i stepped down a little. damnit.

well it sure has done a job of quieting down the system overall... except before i changed out the fan i was running 1.85v through my 1800+ TbredA, then I switch fans and watched my temp climb to like 75c, when i set the shutdowntemp in bios to 85, eek!

So i incrementally turned down voltage, and realized i didnt need about .15v of it!

As soon as I buy a Barton 2500+ to overclock Im gonna buy an adjustable fan that can go up to like 48cfm... ill just keep that guy maxed out (and itll STILL be quieter than the stock 60mm on the HHC-001!!!)
