GE has a jet engine commercial that airs every Sunday morning toward the end of the "Meet The Press". It has a big jet engine strapped to the top of the Wright Bros. plane. I am so reminded of that commercial by that HSF. At least you get to hearJohnny Cash singing in the commercial.

I think it looks really really cool....but I wouldnt use it on a case unless it was some sort of retro looking mod (Like the Metropolis movie mod I have planned) or even to hack it up and use on other areas of the case. Would look cool as intake fans if you actualy made a case with wings and aeronautical stuff.

Jesus that thing is LOUD, looks VERY VERY cool though 45-60+ decibels means it sounds like a jet engine as well as looking like one though...:beer:

I like the retro look, but the LED's are hoky! Sounds like it could work very well with a little lapping prior to installation....I usually wind up doing that anyways!

Actually the specs are: "Fan Noise: 25.1-40.4 dBA"

But yeah, the unit is very nice but its only a 'standard replacement' nothing special for overclocking and whatnot.

pretty but it needs to be way way larger. if your going to make a jet engine.. it should be freakin big. all copper cooler and u got a deal.

so far my slk 800 outperforms it... so bah.

EDIT - Mind you ALL the dbs ratings seem unnaturally high...

Different measure method will produce different noise result.
The industry standard is measure 1 meter (a little more than 3 ft) from the noise source.

Also the environment needs to be quiet, otherwise result will be affected by the sourrounding.

Also using the unit, it does not seem any louder (at low levels) than the Coolermaster Quad LED fans which are rated at 25dba.

The ratings you have linked may be 'actual' readings using a 'in house' decibal tester. Those will always have higher dba ratings than standard manufacturer tests.
