If you guys thought the Gemini's design was a little extreme, take a look at these bad boys: V8 & V10

Update: And the V12.

No performance data but going on looks alone, I must say, I'd love to have the V8 on my desk where I could gaze at its beauty for an unspecified length of time. The V10 looks like something out of Doc Brown's DeLorean.

My god, things are getting out of control heh. Watch them still not beat the TR 120 Ultra. I have to admit tho some of them do look damn sexy.

V12 looks most appealing to me... the surface area is top notch, and all those heat pipes... dual fans... sweeeeeeeeeeet.

I like the v12 also, I think it'll be the next big thing, if done properly it has the means to compete with/beat the U120X

I'd be thrilled if these things could keep up with low-end water cooling. I doubt it, but it's a nice thought.

Not because I want my $250ish worth of watercooling to suddenly be "par to the course," but rather because I'd like to see a lot of the crappy all-in-one watercooling kits to be obsolete. There's no reason why these companies can't piece together all-in-one kits like the common custom ones so many people build today, and drag the price down a bit.

Perpendicular fins? Interesting idea... they all look pretty hardcore [v10 WTFMATE], now it's time for some performance figures

On one hand, we have Intel & AMD both working on cooler-running, more power-efficient CPUs which should mean even stock coolers should suffice for most users (people that run their CPUs stock or however high it goes on stock vcore). On the other hand, we have the Wolfdales/Yorkfields with tremendous overclocking potential which means extreme cooling market will never die. Why stay happy with a 3.6GHz Wolfdale on a stock heatsink when you could get it past 4GHz, I guess.

Damn this overclocking - there's no stopping it. I seriously want to know how much these things weigh and why HSF manufacturers all think it's okay to hang one-kilogram heatsinks off our motherboards. I see a return of the, "If heavy HSFs could snap a motherboard in half, why would they manufacture them in the first place and face the possibility of RMAs and lawsuits?" debate.

that looks soooo sweet

it does, but Coolermaster has a few other limited edition cases similar to this and they are like 600-700 bucks if I remember correctly. I could see 2x the price of a Cosmos, which is already an expensive case. But it be much more than that.

God help us all, I was in that thread a lot. A LOT.

To those of you that don't remember, the thread started when a user here bought one of the first 120mm HSF's designed for socket A before the manufacturers realized what they had done and added 4 HSF mounting holes. It was Solid copper and weighed roughly a killogram. Well, to make a long story short, the socket came free of the motherboard, permanantly. And that is why heatsinks no longer clip directly to the socket.

Yeah, they've had some duds recently. They seem geared towards folks with windowed cases looking for more bling than raw numbers. But the Cooler Master Hyper 212 performs pretty close to the Tuniq Tower and sells for $42 on Newegg. It's largely ignored by the community because Cooler Master isn't traditionally considered an enthusiast HSF manufacturer but look around the web and its performance always places in Tuniq range.

In the tuniq range and like $2 less. It does come with a fan and s939 mounting hardware but, I do not like CM fans, they're almost as bad with specs as Tt. I'd still rather spend the extra $2 plus maybe $10 on a fan and know exactly what I'm getting.

Wow, you'll probably have to hang these things off of the PSU fan grille for it not to break the mobo. How much exactly does it weigh?
