Quite a PITA. The DELL motherboards, and many other manufacturers, now use propiertary plugs to connect the front panel buttons and LEDs (power, reset, on LED, activity LED, etc). I saw an 8600 and the only way you could hook up another case was to individually connect the wires to the plugs.

Great for the factory workers, sucks big time for anyone who wants a new case.

I'm not sure how proprietary Dell is, but if they go by standards, you shouldn't have a problem. The biggest things you need to look for are:

What are the MB diminesions, will it fit? And, do the MB mounting holes match that of the case? Is the MB layout standard as far as AGP, PCI? Does the PSU have standard mounting holes? If things look pretty standard, you shouldn't have to worry......

Side Panel Fans : No (Not even holes for adding them, mod time perhaps?)
Heavier Than Expected : Yes (LOL)
Pure Aluminum : No (Aluminum Bezel with Steel Body)

Really depends on what you are going to cram inside of it...you can spend alot more than you need to, or you can end up getting a POS too. What hardware do you plan to use over the next few years?

I wouldn't recommend getting a cheap PSU. Cheap meaning like a $10-$30 PSU. Just spend a little more and have the piece of mind of having a decent PSU that won't potentially damage the rest of your computer. Cheap PSU's have been known to take out motherboards, CPUs, hard drives, etc with them when they die. Antec is my personal favorite.

I've done will call from mwave before, but now I live in New York, so that's not a viable option for me. All 3 places (Sundial Micro, mwave, SVC) have the same shipping cost to me, $20.32 (sigh.) Will call from mwave is $5 if you live in So Cal. Sundial Micro doesn't charge for will call so that might be a better deal depending on what part of so cal you live in.

Well, Amazon.com has the windowless variety with 350W PSU for 82.99 with free shipping. Best I can find for the windowless PC. Too bad SVC doesn't offer this deal on a windowless/no PSU cavalier.

By the way, Directron.com has this same case for 49.99...made a few $$ difference in shipping for me...
