Hi, building a new computer for the first time. I bought a CM 690 case and was wondering if the abit IP35 pro will fit properly in it as i have seen some places mention that the wire harness of the case is improperly placed.

Also, i bought 3 yate loons 120mm and was wondering which slots should i install the fans it (6-7 fans are possible on this case).

Lastly, my psu is OCZ GameXstream 600W and the case has the psu at the bottom. Which way should the psu face, regarding the fan on the psu.

Anything else that i need to know?

Thanks in advance, and please try to address all the questions. Help is appreciated.

And welcome to the AT forums.

The 8-pin CPU power connector is in a weird place on that mobo, so the CPU HSF will be in the way, but shouldn't cause a problem, just bring that cable behind the mobo pan - may need an extension for it.
. Just because there are places for a lot of fans doesn't mean it makes sense to use them. I'd start with the three that came with the case mounted front, bottom, rear. Block off the other fan grills with saran wrap or similar. See how that works, then if you really need more, add them in one at a time to see if it is really helping.
. If the PSU has a 120 or larger intake fan, it should normally be toward the bottom - but you can do it either way. My fan doesn't like to be facing up as it is noisier that way. Facing down you'll suck in more dust. Six o' one, half-dozen o' the other...

First thing to do with the case is to take those cable management things out of there, they're just in the way.

So you bought 3 yate loons, are you planning on replacing the stock coolers or adding those three? Stock coolers are placed in the front, rear and the left side panel, which are the correct places for three. I don't know why Zepper said bottom instead of the left side, this was the way it was for me. If you're thinking of adding the 3 yate loons, I'd go for bottom and two on the top, or maybe one on the top close to the rear exhaust and one could just be fitted to the optical drive bays with tape or whatever.

Place your PSU fan to face down so it will take in fresh air instead of air from inside the case. Remember to clean your house to prevent too much dust taken in if you keep the case on the floor.

What else... oh yeah, get rid of the filter on the bottom of the case if you place a fan there. It practically makes the fan useless. Again, remember to clean the room.

He wants you to move it from the side to the bottom, seeing as that would help suck up some cold air. I left it on the side panel because I have a non-modular cabling PSU and so the wires are all over the place, blocking the vent.
