I am looking to grab a new case for my rig in sig and after reading a few reviews I think the Coolermaster Cosmos S might be what I am looking for however I'd rather put it past you lot before I make a purchase .

My ideal case would have the following:

Support for Modular PSU's (My CM Stacker has a stupid PSU mounting bay which blocks two of the inputs for my PSU since they are downward facing and I guess they made the case only with PSU's that have all the cables coming out the back in mind).

The more airflow the better. (Cosmos S has big 20cm fan on side panel :thumbsup

Big enough for Crossfire setups

Support for watercooling in the future. I would be looking to mount a triple rad the size of say a Thermochill PA 120.3, not sure how many modern cases make allowances for things like this.

Good looking (nothing too 'bland), perhaps have a window and practical to move.

What do you guys think? Any other recommendations?

I was thinking about buying this case as well. It is a full tower so you can fit mostly any config in it. I also read on the Coolermaster website that it has upgradeability for water cooling and the like, which are apparent from the two round holes on the back of the case for the cooling tubes and the space for the radiator in the inner top portion of the case. If you visit the Coolermaster website they have a video showing a guy addING the components to the case, which was very easy to follow so I would recommend checking out that how to video.

It's basically a blingier stacker 830. not a bad case at all. That side fan will probably not work with taller cards like the 3870 or the 8800 or 9800. Thats ok though. These cases were designed for negative air pressure. set the front fan as an intake and the rest as exhaust and it'll cool just fine.

I have a single 8800 EVGA GTS 512 card will that fit in there okay?

Why did you decide you like the Cosmos S better than the regular Cosmos (not a rhetorical question, deciding myself as well)?

Well not sure who your asking in this thread but for me I have never owned a Cosmos and this is the newer model that has some refinements made from the older Cosmos. It would only make sense to go with the new and improved version instead of the old one unless you are looking for a cheaper buy I guess.

The Comsos S itself is much more attractive IMO, but the 1000 has those cool rackmount things for your hard drives which makes for a much easier install and cleaner inside. There is a new 1010 that came out as well, which has a side fan and is made out of lighter material, as well as incorporating ESA.

I have the Cosmos S case. It's great and I removed the HDD cage to use my own SATA cages ( http://www.scsi4me.com/images/BPU-350SATA.jpg ) and it looks very, very slick. There's A LOT of space in there and the holes to move all the cables "behind" the motherboard and then out where you need them means the case remains very clean.

My only complaint would be the noise. I have 5 fans in there (+the psu, video card and cpu fans) so it's noisy, IMO... but since I'm getting bad temperatures on my OC'd qx9650 (4Ghz), I'm considering water cooling and on that front, like I said, lots of space.

I have a picture, I should post it... it will give you a great idea of what it looks like.

Where did you buy the SATA cage? Also why would they use an HDD cage and not an SATA cage in the first place and what is the benefit to using the SATA cage over the HDD cage?

I really don't like the regular Cosmos. I've had a slightly heated conversation with another member here about that case so I'm not really going to go into it. But, I really don't like that case, I'll let it suffice to say that unless you have to have the looks of the cosmos, there are much better cases for the money.

I like the stacker a bit better than the cosmos but they're nice as hell both of them. I went with a Silverstone TJ-09 donno if you've looked at those, they're a bit more but I love it. Need a cpu 8pin extension though if yours is to short or the plug is high up on the board.
