It looks like a mixed bag if you ask me. Here's jonny's review of the CMEP 600 which may or may not be the same OEM (seventeam).

If you can afford all of that nice hardware why skimp on the power supply? A nice $45 AR EarthWatts 430 will do your rig some justice with only a ±50% max load on the psu. It also has better efficiency which means less heat, less fan noise, and it will save you money on your electric bill. You also get an Antec AQ3 year warranty.

I've got the same powersupply, they sure do come a bit cheaper in Europe, payed 65 euro's for mine. It's definately overkill for my rig which probably uses slightly less energy then your rig will. It hasn't dissapointed me so far, it's nice and sturdy, cable management is okay. The only thing is, something in my case is making things very loud, and I'm quite sure it isn't the 8800gts or any of my other fans, that I can stop for a moment, so I'm thinking it's the PSU, which thus might have a pretty loud fan.

Is this just a trash PSU or decent? I know it isn't gonna push 650w, but it should be enough shouldn't it?

Anandtech's recent review of a similar system to yours (http://anandtech.com/cpuchipse...owdoc.aspx?i=2903&p=7) -- jump to the power consumption page -- says that you'll need about 203 watts on that system (you'll need a touch less with the GTS; their review used the GTX). So yes, I'd say you'd have over 60% of the capacity of that PSU completely unused.

Yeah I know, sue me hehe I've explained before, but it's because I ordered a 8800gts, 1gb of ram, and well, I needed a new PSU. Since delivery costs money, I figured I should order everything from the same website. That website is a very reliable, fast website, but their offerings in PSU's is on the slim side, or at least, not the brands I would like. In the end, the 650w coolermaster was the best, for 65 euro's. In the end I could have gotten a enermax or seasonic, but it would have taken an extra week

It will probably last me till me next system, and since it doesn't even get near full load, it should last me a while. I'd much rather have bought a 80% efficient PSU with the same amperage, that can only put out 400-500w though

personally I would chose the Coolermaster 650 over the earthwatt...just my opinion though...

Peace!!

My vote is an Enhance ENP-5150GH (500w) from ewiz.com for $69 w/free shipping.
This unit is fairly quiet and 80Plus certed.
The free ship may not last long so grab it soon if it meets your needs.

Yes It would be worth....$40 is $40.....doesn`t really matter what anybody else suggests the CoolerMaster is NOT a bad PSU....of course there are better...
But that word better is also subjective.....not as subhective as the word "BEST"...

You would be hard pressed to find a better PSU at that price point!!
