the saturn died a very quick death really didnt it...lol

i only owned one console myself, a 2600......played that thing right up until 1998....when it got lost somewhere, i still dont know where :-(

got a gamecube eventually...lol

also owned an Amstrad 464, same thing as commodore 64, just slightly different OS and stuff.....mine was using Basic 1.0......not really a console as it loaded from audio tape...but close enuff to count as it couldnt really do much else...lol
(tell a lie, u could do more, add a modem and connect to another computer....and say hello....dont say more than hello tho, or it'll blow up from a syntax error...heh)

The best classic console was the first 32-bit console on the market.

The Amiga CD-32.

You deserve to be shot for not reading my OP. I defined vintage in my poll as 20 years or older (with the exception of the master system, which was 19.5 years old). 1993 is not "vintage".

Atari 800XL
Atari ST
Amiga
Apple II
Atari Lynx
Turbo Grafx 16

Atari 2600 is the winner and Pitfall was the game followed by Adventure.

Again, I was going for ~20 years or greater. A few in your list qualify, but I didn't think they were worth mentioning. Also, since when is the PS1 vintage?

Last gen isn't "vintage", and neither is anything from the early 90s (SNES, SEGA Genesis).

Genesis was at least 2 generations ago and in about 3 months it will be 3 generations ago. That should make it vintage. Anything with a cartridge is vintage to me excluding handhelds.

Current Gen
XBOX
PS2
GAMECUBE

Last Gen
Dreamcast
Nintendo 64
PS1

Prior
SNES
Genesis

Dreamcast actually was the first of this generation, but it died an early death unfortunately. Last gen Sega was the Saturn.

edit: nm/see it's posted above

Vintage enough.

Dreamcast was more current gen...You forgot Saturn, which I believe was released around the time of PS1.

Your right saturn so that should make genesis vintage.

You see the mind if the first thing to go. But I wouldnt know that.

I grew up with Nintendo so thats my vote.

Funny story. While working at game stop a kid asked about Super Mario Bro. He was about 7-8 and after explaining basic gameplay and such this is what was said:

Kid: So all you do is run around and jump on stuff? No guns?

Me: well you can get flower power-up that let you shoot fire.

Kid: Oh so they burn and stuff?

Me: No they just fly off the screen.

Kid: .....THATS GAY!

It took all my strength not to reach over the counter and beat the ever living crap out of him.

I was born in 84, and by the time I had developed any useful motor skills and NES has been there for me since. I still play roms on my computer of it all the time. The games for it, especially the rpgs, are better than 90% of the games being released today IMO.

Ahh, another fan of Last Gladiator Pinball for the Saturn. I still have that game as well along with my Saturn. Not quite good as Pro Pinball series physics wise but I prefer the music of Last Gladiator more and it's just as fun.

Ninja Spirit for Turbo Graphix 16 was awesome too. I remember playing that game back in the day and being blown away by the graphics and the gameplay. I played that game again last night this time on my Sony PSP and it's just as good as I remembered it. Also fired up Legendary Axe, Devil's Crush, and Raiden. TG16 had some great games. If only I could get Blazing Lazers to work.
