For those of you running mobile chips in desktops, how did you get your heatsink to sit lower enough to make contact?
I have been looking around, but can't come up with any definite answers.
I am running a Biostart TForce 6100 socket 754 board w/ a mobile 2800+ in it. I was going to throw a Scythe Samurai Z on it, but the spring loaded mounting mechanism won't make enough contact. I can slide the heatsink up and down with ease.
Is there a better option for quiet running and acceptible cooling? I do have an OE hsf in my main rig that I could use, if that will work better. I can put the Scythe in my main rig which uses a desktop style 3000+.
Thanks in advance.
